We are having the opposite problem, we have a static caravan for sale on the French Riviera and cannot find a website to advertise it on. Anyone with info out there or anyone interested in buying our caravan reply here for more details.

Caravans in France cost more than UK. Also none have an oven and generally no grill.

French authorities now are encouraging mobile homes and these look like homes rather than caravans. Secondhand can be purchased from 11000 and new from around 25000. There are plenty of dealers and they can also find a site.

The caravan we have for sale on the Riviera has an oven, grill, hob and microwave. As for caravans costing more in France, it is for sale for £6,000 and the ground rent is approx £2,000 per year including all electricity and water/sewage charges. Try comparing this price with caravan sites in Devon and Cornwall with the same amenities as the one ours is on.

Hi Just wondering how you got on with the caravan you was after in the Limousin area? The reason that I am interested is that my grand daughter has just bought a cottage in that area which is in a very run down condition so she will be looking out for an old tourer that could be put on the site to provide tempory accomodation while we muck in and do it up, somewhere to put an elson loo, make a cuppa, and sleep for a while until it became habitable. I was just wondering if you had any luck finding one and could posibly point us in the direction of some dealer who may have a unroadworthy tourer for sale I hope that your project came to a satisfactory conclusion. regards Terry. e mail [Log in to view email]

Terry, previous message didn't go,think my connection was bad?? I've got 2 tourers. 1x luxury 2berth(at present in u.k.- going to France this summer)'94 model. And, 1x 3-4 berth ('80ish) in normandy, France. Both fully equipped fridge/ oven/ toilet/ mains hook-up/ spare wheel, etc. Price(s) debateable. (older caravans tend to have less efficient insulation for the winter.)

Re Caravan My grand daughter has just completed the purchase of the cottage and the agent says that she would look araound the local area and try to find a cheep old van for her just to use while they get the place habitable, mainly a gas stove for a cuppa and an Elson in case they have too many. . then they will probably ennd up keeping chickens in it.
