I am considering purchase of a Swift 18 but have one concern. I note the ballast ratio is lower than comparable trailer sailers -for instance the Medina- and I am concerned it might be rather tender and lively, particularly when sailing singlehanded. From what I read it seems a fair number of Swift owners do sail on their own part of the time and would be interested in their comments. I plan to keep the boat on a drying mooring and in other respects the boat seems ideal for an ex dinghy sailor wanting something perhaps a little drier and more comfortable.
