Hi, I have a Rover 214si (1993) and have seen a discussion on here about removing the inlet manifold to gain access to remove the ballbearing. Well, I have taken off all the nuts and bolts i can see and the supporting rod and it wont budge!! Can someone plz tell me how i'm supposed to take it off ( step by step if poss) as my knowledge to fixing engines is rather limited :).
Thanks

Hi,
I too have experienced the same problem with the loss of water.

I removed the inlet manifold, the inlet manifold is held on by 6 screws and 2 nuts (easily seen). It also has 2 supporting rods, not 1.
with all these off the inlet manifold can be eailsy removed - however, I have limited movement due to all the pipes etc still connected to it.

I have not been able to see a ball-bearing, instead it appears to be a one way valve (which was full of gunk). I am not too sure if the ball bearing is supposed to be on the back side of the inlet manifold or in the hole within the engine (mine is a 1995 model)

Anyway, will be interested to see if you find the ballbearing.

ice.
