hi all ... im 15 at the mo and guna turn 16 in 2 months! im not sure wot bike to get! i reli lik zips and thinkin about gettin 1 .. can any1 reccommend on wot bike to get and how to kit it up and a price range .. thankz!

Well mate zips aint bad as piaggio's are good quality but I will always recommend a yamaha aerox. Can't beat 'em! Well they aint too expensive around £500 to £700 for a good one. Very popular bike as they are good quality and the engine is very tune-able. Loads of performance parts available compared to other peds. Good handling, fast, look good, what more do you want??

well mate i gotta agree with grindey5490....aeroz is a pukka ped but if its cheapness and tune-able u wnt then trust me on this 1 and go for the honda cub 50.....u might larf at the thought of it but you twist the laws arm and fit a 70cc big bore kit on one of these then kiss goodbye to the rs50's and tzr's....very very cheap to run and the most reliable bike EVER!!! parts are the easiest and again the cheapest.....at the end of the day u may crash like i ave done and i have ha a brand new 2 n a harf K bike and it int good lookin at the damage whereas on a old club it will be cheap to repair and very very fast!!! hope i helped!

If you get a bore kit over 50cc then no, as then it's technically not a moped. To stay legal you must keep you bike restricted to 30mph! If your gonna derestrict then its already illegal so you may as well go for a bore kit aswell!

no its not legal but the only way they can find out is if they dyno your bike.....its the same "illegalness" as every 50 cc today that does more than 30mph another words de-restricted so nothing to wuz about!

The police will have little to say to you if your bike does more than 30mph. They've got speeding cars to waste their time on. Its what your insurance company will say if you plough into a car, write it and your bike off and they send a mechanic or adjudicator to assess the damage and your bike wasnt actually legal in the first place.

i would go for a cagiva mito, aprilia rs, or the derbi they do up to 80mph+ when they are derestricted, there are ways of doin it tho, the insurance companies will look for blatent tampering of the bike first before paying if u crash. i bored out the inside of the can on my old rs n you cant tell the difference (apart from the speed).

I am 16 in september and have decided to start lookin for a moped. i am looking to spend under £1,000 . I would like to be able to get my bike to about 50-55 through moderation. so far Yamaha aerox is top of my list. does any1 else have any suppestions?or would i be right in getting the Yamaha Aerox ....??????????????????

Hey, i just bought a Yamaha Aerox 50cc the other day, cost me £550 for a 2002 model, perfect condition, Kundo Race Exhaust, De-restricted engine/exhaust/carb its pretty good, my dad just got off the clock (clock goes upto 50mph) he was going at some speed too, im not old enough to drive it yet. so i just gotta watch my dad :( lol but still, they are really fast bikes, the past owner said he got bout 65 downhill, and 57 on flat. Great bike, they have a tendancy not to start well in cold wether, but it aint like an offroad bike where you need to take the spark out etc. etc. just a few more kicks/electric start then usual. Go for it! best ones going, meant to be fast. if not the fastest 50cc around :D will easily keep up with RS50's and Flog straight past your mates :P .. cheers brad

Yeah I've gotta say aerox's are great bikes, probably the best 50's about. Loads of parts about as they are popular, very tuneable also. Extremely quick for a 50 so cant go wrong really. Mine starts first time every time even if not been used for ages. So yeah, I'd say go get one. Look very nice too so all your mates can admire it as they try to catch up!!!

yer aerox's are good all around bikes but to say the best wud not be right. go and ride a any good piaggio zip preferably an older model that has been done up with an exhaust and rollers then see if it compares to an aerox. piaggio's will start everytime if you have looked after them. mine is a 2002 model and is still going 65 will exhaust and rollers my mate aerox is a 2005 model with leo vince exhaust and rollers and he is way behind so it depends on the mods you make to the bike the more you make generally you go quicker the less you make can make you go quicker.

i still say the minerelli am6 engine is the best.....like the rs gpr tzr xsm rx most geared 50's have.....just different gearing there is no fastest best bike its what you make of them.....50cc engines are so small they all depends you can buy to aprilia rs 50's brand new run them in the same and then de restrict them.....the would be different....you get some 50's that struggle 40 derestricted and you get some that hit around 50......been watchin this thread for ages but there is never going to be an answer!....true or not true?

oright lads get a speedfight 2 mine is fast and all i done 2 it is got it dersticted everywere doppler exhoust 6.5 gram rollers and by the way dnt get a genelli exhoust 3 of ma m8s hv cracked near the head and sooo did mine

what is faster a 50cc peugeot ludix blaster (apparently 1 of da fastest 50ccs about) or a speedfight silversport?
i cant decide betwen these two bikes i like the looks etc of both so which is faster?

not to piss on your chips or nothin mate, peugeot speefights and blasters are slow as hell ! you need to get a liquid cooled bike. they are a tiny bit more exspensive but worth. go for somethin like an nrg mc3 dd. very fast for a ped. a few of my friends have peugeots and none of them can touch me on mine. good luck in findindg a bike.

what bike do u have?
i don't know why but nrg's arent my cup of tea to be honest any other recommendations?

well any ped can be fast if you do the rite stuff to it. Aprillia sr50's are quite quick. Anything thats liquid cooled really. good luck
