Hundreds of posts about this, but most no power to the immo or ecu. Likely cause is corrosion in the relay area above the battery. Check fuse, fuse connections, relay connections, wiring connections, and wiring disintegration.

I hope someone can help me, I own a Fiat Bravo (T reg) which I bought from an Ancaster dealer about 4 yrs ago. When I got the car I was given a red master key and 2 blue keys, but no code card (which I wasn't aware at the time I should have received). About a year ago I lost my blue car key, tried to use the spare blue key but the battery was dead. When I put in a new battery the key wasn't coded to my car, so I went to Ancaster and told them the situation. They said to me as long as I had the master key and the 4 digit code card they could program the key for me. When I told them I never received a code card when I bought the car from them, they obviously insisted that they did. I had found out at a previous time when I rang to speak to the sales person who sold me the car (about something else), that he had been fired! I brought this up, saying the person who sold me the car had been fired, so maybe if he wasn't doing his job properly that's why he didn't give me the code card. But Ancaster wouldn't have any of it. In the end they said I would need a whole new system put in the car which would cost me something like £500. There's more to the story but I'm getting bored now, and probably so is anyone that's reading. To get to the point, I was so frustrated with the service Ancaster were providing that I gave up in the end. I've been using my master key for the last year (which is dangerous), does anyone know if there's a way to code the blue key just using the data from the red master key? Or is there a way of finding out what the 4 digits are that would have been on the code card for my car? I would really appreciate some helpful advice.

Some confusing points here. There are 2 systems in the remote key, the immobiliser which turns off the code light (which is bound to be ok), and the remote (which requires batteries). Note that it wants 2x thin batteries, not 1 thick one ie 6volts not 3volts. The remote key can be out of sync and you would need the 4 digit code to "open" the receiver, this can sometimes be obtained from Fiat security section for a small fee. Fiat will have the key cut code, but whether the remote code is there its try and see. Its possible to "open" the receiver on the bench, but it needs some knowhow.

Where the baterries in the spare blue remote key had been dead for so long, the key (small button on the side) was no longer in sync with the receiver unit in My Bravo (that's what an Ancaster mechanic told me anyway, who put the new batteries in for me). So the spare blue remote key also didn't turn off the alarm & immobiliser. The result of this was, where I tried to get into my car by putting the key in the lock and opening it, the alarm went off and then eventually shut it self down and went into some sort of shut down mode. So ever since, the alarm is no longer activated. But although the master key doesn't have the facility to activate/de-activate the alarm, the mechanic told me it does have something in it that deactivates the immobiliser when it's put in the ignition. So I'm able to drive it around using the master key, but if I was to lose this!!! Also, if I was to sell my Fiat Bravo (which I love driving, but the girlfriend is nagging 'do we really need two cars?') I guess not having a working remote key would possibly devalue it.

Ok Welshy, think I've got most of it now, just a few more points. When you use either of your remote keys to run the car, does it start ok? If not then you have lost the transponder when you opened the key (its quite seperate from the door lock opener). If the red led on key/s flash every second or so then they are working, but out of sync. If you cannot get the unlock code, then I can retreive it for you, also I can supply a couple of transponders coded up ready for yopur master key.
