Hi, I am living in Ireland and I am doing my driving test tomorrow and the power stering light comes on sometimes when i start the car but not every time the steering is the same as it has always been can some1 please help me as i am nervous enough

hi do not worry as this is just a faulty switch to pass your test you do not worry just drive the way you normally drive as if it is your driving instructer is with you as examiners are only to pleased to pass a driver and they reliese that you will be a bit nervous on your test and they make allowances please let me know how you go on on your test [Log in to view email] luck.

Thanks for your reply but the problem is if this light comes on when i start the ignition to start the test they will not carry out the test. How do i check this switch

I have looked at a Fiat Punto M reg slopeing back, it has been left standing for over 12 months in my neibours drive, i have charged the battery fully,sprayed wd40 over the engine and turned the crank to make sure it hasn't siezed,moves fine,when i put the ignition key in i get a light on the dashboard ,the amber symbol of a key flashing "CODE". I have the original keys one is the master "brown" can anybody tell me how i get this car started ,any advice would be helpfull.

My daughters car has a little warning light just recently come on it is a round red ball with what I assume is a person sitting behind it. She has lost her instruction manuel. I think it is something to do with an airbag. Could anyone tell me if this is dangerous or could it wait until after easter.

Hi
My mum has just bought a fiat punto 2003..only had it two weeks and a orange warning light has come on and the engine has started to judder or like me mum says flutter!!!Why and what is happening.....???

Hi. It is probably a coil problem, but if you bought the car from a trader or dealer then you automatically have a warranty with it. Get the engine fault codes read and the fault fixed asap it is unlikely it will go away and it could cause more damage.

Hey, I have noticed now in the last week on my punto 1.2 active '02 reg that when i turn my wipers on they dont respond. But after about 2 mins of flickering the switch it works. Lately in the last day or two it has gotten worse, This evening they are responding fine. More than likely in the morning they will prob not respond again!!Any Ideas on what the cause is? I think that it might be the contacts in the switch itself or a loose wire? A fuse maybe?
So do yous think i should take the lever apart to check for a loose wire or sumtin???

LOw and Behold the Frickin Wipers wouldn't work this morning, Its like they have a mind of their own, They come on intermittently when i leave them on!!!!
Any1 any Ideas?????

Well the only way is to check voltage supply to the switch and the motor.

hi,the bloody power steering light is still coming on in my car. it never comes on when i am trying to show someone what i mean!! it seems to be a morning thing!! The steering doesn't seem to get any heavier or anything so i thought it was just a loose wire, ripped out the part with the clocks and can't see any bulbs! any ideas??

Hi,New to the board. Just got a 02 punto 1.2 active. Just took it for a good run this weekend and I've found that when I was on the motorway travelling at 70 (or maybe a little quicker, but never more than 80) a warning light started flashing on the dash. It was a yellow engine picture located on the right hand side on the speedo dial. After a while it would stop flashing. The book says something about cat emissions, but it this anything I should worry about? I'll never normally be on motorways, only really a few times a year, so I'm glad I found out during the warranty period! Cheers Steve

Hi. Whenever a warning light comes on you should always get it investigated , after all that is what they are there for. Take it to where you bought it and ask them to check for fault codes which should give an indication of the fault.

Hi, I'm new to this site. I found it by accident actually, when i typed the fault of my car into google! I have a 51 reg 1.2 fiat punto sporting. I bought it on monday. Today i was on my way back from the shop and i noticed that the engine light was permenently on. According to the owners manual, this means a problem with a fuel feed/ignition system failure! I just wanted to know is this bad? I can't beleive it! I've only had it a few days. My old car I had for 3 years an didn't even have so much as a bulb go!!! Have i made a mistake buying a punto?

i should not worry to much about this light as faits are famous for ripping people of with there cars i.e computors on there cars which if you sneeze shows a fault as long as your water engine oil is all right just keep driving hope this helps best wishes bill.
