My steering is really doing my head in.
I have had 2 units from BBA reman and on both the steering wheel was sitting about 45% off.
To correct it we had to adjust the track rods so that the steering wheel is straight.
Now the steering pulls all over the place but the tracking is ok.
Has anyone else had a poblem with the steering wheel position after fitting a bba unit. It cant go together wrong as there are master splines top and bottom :(

Hi. well the first thing to do is to speak to BBA-REMAN, I have had a number of units from them with no problems whatsoever, if the tracking is correct then have you checked the shock absorbers and front AND REAR suspension ?

Hi, My Fiat Punto active 1.2 8v Mk2 '02 reg car has overheated today when in heavy traffic coming home from work. Steam was coming from the hood so i pulled in and left cool for a half hour, I then drove it home. Even when i had it idling at home it started to overheat, I've noticed that the radiator leaked all its coolant, I used rad-weld n sealed the hole. So the radiator is fine now, not leaking. I crossed the wires on the fan while the ignition was on and the fan didnt kick in either, so dont think its d switch. When i go to spin the fan myself it wont do it so easy, and i basicall hav to move it with my hand to get it to move. Is it the Fan dat needs replacing, could it be anything to do wih d thermostat? The Fan doesnt kick in at all, I checked the fuses and they're all fine. Also i noticed the horn isnt workin either, all wires are connected properly and the fuse is fine? would that have any relation to wat the problem could be? Any Help is much much appreciated!
I really need to get this fixed as i hav to drive 120 miles this weekend!

Hi. I don't understand which wires you crossed. you should either link the wires on the fan switch or apply a 12 volt supply to the fqan motor. Saying that the fan motor should turn relatively easily so it does look as though this could be the fault

hi, yeah i linked the wires together on the switch, no joy. It looks like the fan motor is ceased, i can only move it with my hand. I got a 2nd hand Valeo rad fan from a scrap yard yesterday, 50. Not bad! Im gona replace the fan now. I'll let yous know how it goes

Hey , yeah the fan connection dat goes into the motor is bigger smaller than the last fan! Its the exact same fan, jus needs a smaller connection to go into it! Hmmmm! Any ideas?

Well there are 2 things you can do, either go to the scrap yard and get the connector that goes with the fan or just cut the commector off and put spade connectors on the cable.
You could also take the fan back and get the correct one .

Help! I don't have an owners book. A warning light has come on that looks like a spring lying on its side, just above the city light. Is my Punto about to self destruct?

I have a '03 plate Punto Mia and my power steering warning light keeps coming on now and again. It came on ages ago randomly and then when I turned the engine off the light disappeared and it is now reappearing, more frequently.
The power steering itself is fine so hopefully its not a major issue but does anyone know what it may be and if it's a serious problem?!

try testing the power sterring top up resovior electric on the top up as this might be faulty,i think there is a top up warning,if there is disconnect the wires and see the light goes off,then test the unit as i had this trouble on a car in the past,please let me know how you go on re bill.

hi all hope u can help my engine management ligth has been coming on and going out for about six months with no real problems but drove it the other day and it starts fine but then starts to make a slight knocking sound and struggles and judders when driving could it be my coil or something else its an 01 1.2 16v

i have the same exact problem with my 2000 punto sporting. the engine management light comes and goes, when it comes the temperature drops flat and no hot air comes out, and the car at the moment judders heavily and is making a tractor like sound when accelerating. it struggles to get any kind of speed. i only had my punto re-built last year, with a new ecu, throttle body, HT Leads, Timing, and a few other bit and bobs which cost me just short of £3000, and i didnt expect any problems to occur so soon (just the usual wear and tear). have u found a solution or is there anybody that can help me and advise me what the problem is and how to go about fixing the problem as cheaply as possible. i have already bought the car over twice!

i have a x reg fiat punto 1.2. my engine management light is on and have had it diagnosed. it says ignition coil pack but i have now have them replaced. i have now been told this could be the ecu or the leads. how can i tell?? i need to sell the car as i have bought a new one but cant sell in current state.

i had the same prob this week you will find the that it will be the ecu i just paid £340 fro one now my car is up and running again

Hi, my ecu light came on about 2 months ago but i jusy carried on driving the car (Punto 2001), Eventually one morning the car wouldn't start or even attempt to kick over. I removed and recharged the battery overnight, the next morning car started no probs. 2-3 days later ecu came on again and 2-3 weeks later the same problem with starting the car. I took it to my machanic, alternator fine and battery appeared fine. I got the car back last week, the next day ecu light came on again. This morning driving home from work the car conkedout 3 times at the traffic lights but restarted noproblem, however i noticed that the coolant light had come on. When i got home and checked the coolant it was full. I am beginning to think this is an ecu problem and i'm planning on getting the car hooked up to a code reader, how much does a new ecu cost, any advice would be great?

I use a mobile auto electrician. He has all the computer stuff on board and charges about £40 for a diagnosis. He's in the mansfield notts area, should be someone like that in your area
