Hi Natasha. Sammy just wanted to be near you, ahhh how sweet. Why not try her in a cage, she cant do any damage in there, shame about your quilt. Julie

Hi there. Welcome to the forum. Ben sounds lovely, got any pics of him. I have a 3 year old red and white girl called Milly and she is gorgeous and has a lovely temperment. We had a brindle and white girl before her called Tasha and she lived until 13 and a half. Milly does that tracning/ghosting thing in our back garden under the trees and bushes, I dont now much about it but most bullies do it. What part of the country are you? Julie

Hi Natasha. Trancing or ghosting is where they stand perfectly still with their heads in a bush or under a tree for ages and do not move. Its really funny. How is Sammy getting on. Julie

Oh right, thanks Julie - my Max does this in the garden behind the fence - if you talk to him he just doesn't take any notice - still like a statue!

Sammy is fine, though we didn't try her in the crate - other half wasn't too keen as she had never been in a crate before - she slept on the landing again and was good as gold, but back in the kitchen today and was whinning - i have just put in blankets and towels for her to lie on, because you know she chewed up the quilt, well I put another bed in there a RSCPA dog bed from Argos - I haven't had long - I treated the dogs too and came home yesterday and the stuffing was all over the floor - other half shouted at her, though she's a puppy and still at the chewing stage.

Hi Natasha. Oh dear Sammy is a little tinker, I wonder if she is bored, does she get enough exersise have you got a kong that you can fill with cheese and sausage and she can try and get it out this usually works quite well. I never had any damage from Milly because she was always in her cage when we went out or at night, she loved her cage. I am looking after a 16 month old staffie for a friend of my daughters for a week and he has never been in a cage before but he will definately be going in one when I have him and I bet he will love it, they feel safe and can have a bit of peace. I know it doesn't look nice but it doesn't do them any harm at all. Think about it. Julie

She has a walk every night. I have got one of the kong toys, but haven't filled it with anything - I will try stuffing it with sausage or something to keep her entertained. Chico went into the crate when she was younger and was fine in there. I'll have another talk with the other half and see what he says. Let me know how you get on the staffie in the crate also. Also I need to try and find something else to fed the older dogs, they have gone right off the Wagg, though it does look a bit rubbish and is just cheap, so I'm not sure what dog food to try next - something which isn't too expensive though.

Natasha. Try mixing pilchards or tuna in with the dry food they will love it. Also you can buy the frozen packs of raw minced chicken, rabbit, lamb and tripe its only cheap you can mix that in with the dry food too. Julie

Hi Natasha

I feed mine Chudleys working dog crunch. Cos its meant for working dogs it is vat free and I think the last one cost me about £11 for a big sack. It is higher in protein than some feeds but good quality and mine are really well on it, even though Precious's bully runs last twice as long now!

I don't think I have ever seen Precious trance, everything else she does is straight from the bull terrier handbok so I think she must have missed that chapter!

Hi Tasha

Ghosting is where an ebt will find a bush or long grass and take cover and will walk real slow under it then completely stop, their eyes glaze over and it will seem like their in trance! Funny things aren't they! Vinni hasn't done it yet but his only 8 months old! I've been reading your posts about your Sammy how are things now? I haven't had the chance to get to the laptop long enough to answer as the kids hog it most of the time! We were thinking of getting another one, a girl, but it might be to much as Vinni gets on fine with other dogs but another one may not and they might not get on! have you got all ebt's? do they all get on? I just love the breed wouldn't have anything else. Vinni is getting on better with the kids and his nipping which is just fantastic seems like all my hard work with the training and letting him know who's boss has paid off, but i will carry on as i'm sure he will continue to improve!

Take care
Claire & Vinni

Hi Sue
I've just been searching online and came across your message about the lady who helped to get Max well sometime ago. I own an ebt myself called Nero - tan and white - who is a beautiful boy but is suffering from quite bad skin at the moment. I've tried several types of antibiotics from the vets, all of which have been v.expensive and haven't helped much and I'm at the end of my tether and just don't know what to do to help Nero. He's such a good natured boy.
I would be really grateful for your help on how to contact this lady or for any help any of you other bully lovers can give me.
Thanks
Kate

Hi There,

Welcome to the forum! He looks lovely in the pic! No don't know the reason for this ghosting thing does yours do it? Or did ur last one do it? Aren't they just fantastic? Vinni is just 8 months old and i'm so in love! We've been having probs with him nipping me and the kids but with alot of time and hard work his getting so much better! He only does it when he gets over excited now which is just the normal puppy thing but at least we can deal with it now! He gets on well with other dogs and is really good off the lead so i will continue with his training and i'm sure he'l be the dog i want him to be

Take care

Hi Julie

How's things and the gorgeous Milly? Don't know much about this trancing thing either Vinni hasn't done it yet, when did Miily start doing it? His doing really well and only nips when over excited now so my hard work is paying off at last! I will continue as i think he'l be a fantastic buliie and i love him to bits! I've changed him over to james wellbeloved as he got alot of the runs his been on it for about three weeks and seems alot better! He was playing with this alsatian pup the other day they were having a good chasing game, i'm so glad he gets on well with other dogs as some people are weary of wanting to let their dogs say hello which is undrstandable i suppose! we were thinking of getting another one a girl, but think it will be too much hard work what do you reckon? I'm glad the weather seems to have warmed up so we can get out more, are you going away to your caravan this summer? I'd love to do something like that and take Vinni with us!

Take care

Claire & Vinni

Hi Sue. Sorry to hear about Nero's skin condition. What do you feed him? It could be his diet, James Wellbeloved dry food has no gluten or wheat in it so this could help him. All raw food would be good for him to. My Milly suffers in Sept and Oct when the crane flys are laying their eggs in the grass her feet and nose get really red, itchy and sore but our other ebt we had before had terrible skin but we didn't know about the food then. Hope you get it sorted. Let us know how he is. Julie

Hi Claire. I am glad that Vinnie is getting better, all your hard work is now paying off. He is gorgeous. Milly is fine, we are off to our caravan this weekend and then we have two weeks in July as well - cant wait. Milly loves it as soon as we start getting all the stuff packed up in the car she gets so excited she knows where she is going. Yes its lovely when they get on with other dogs, I dont have to worry about Milly and you can see people are a bit scared when she goes up to their dogs to say hello. I would love another but like you I am worried that they wont get on and she may get left out a bit so not sure really. Hope you get to take Vinnie away with you he will love it. Julie

Hi kate, sorry to here about neros skin, it is awfull i know, my ebt alfie isnt too bad but does have flare ups now and again, i used to take him to the vets and get the steroid injections and the antihistimine tablets, but they didnt seem to be doing anything. I have a friend who i chat to alot on facebook, she lives in southafrica but has had bullies for yrs, and she told me to use aqueous cream u can get it from any chemist, its only a couple of pound, but i tell u what i swear by it now, i cant believe how much i spent at the vets when this works so well!!!
Another one of my bullie friends uses sudacrem and says she doesnt eva need anything else as it works great!!!
good luck and let me know how u get on!!!
I think maybe look into his diet if it doesnt improve!!
The only food i use is tesco own dry food and i mix things in with it, some nights veg, other nights pasta, then maybe a bit of raw chicken, my dogs love it and iv neva had a problem! Alot of people seem to think the more u spend on dog food the better it is, when actually its usually the other way round, cheep dog foods can actually be better as they dont have as many preservatives in them!!!
Although james wellbeloved is a food id reccomend if u can afford it, as it is wheat and gluten free! I have 4 dogs in total so have to go a bit cheaper!!!!!! lol!!! good luck keep us posted!! xxxx

hi, I have a ebt, called hector, he is so funny, he about 14 months old now, we have had numerous incidents with him over chewing, eg, dining room chairs, conservatory furniture, leather belts, etc apparently the vet says these dogs like different materials to chew, we have a cage and he seems very cosy in there, It annoys me when we take him for a walk the amount of people what stand back, and the look on there faces, he is so friendly, just because he looks quite strong, which he is, but its so annoying, does anyone else get this, is it normal, he is a white bully with lots of black spots on him, his ears have still not pricked up yet,I was told it can take up to two years for this to happens, is this true, it is called soft ears apparently, but he stills looks gorgerous , at the minute he is having problems with his skin, has lumps, had lots of tablets from the vets, which takes them away, but later on they come back, so the vet wants to take him in for a good check-up and knock him out to take skin tests to see if a parasite has bedded in him, which can cause this infection,we take him on long walks where there is long grass and has obviously got something from the walks, hopefully it will be sorted, anyone else had this problem, would like to know what the vets found and what to suggest, as you cannot keep a bully in, he loves his runs in the fields and plays.

Hi Susan. welcome to the forum. Hector sounds a gorgeous typical bullie. Sorry to hear about his skin but they do suffer. I am lucky with Milly she only seems to suffer Sept and Oct when the crane flies lay their eggs in the grass and her feet and nose get very red, itchy and sore. My other ebt had bad skin and we were always at the vets getting antibiotics/steroids but nothing really ever worked just had to put up with it really. You could try changing his food to a raw meat/veg diet and see how he goes. Also the vet gives Milly mite treatment instead of flea treatment and I think this may help too. Milly has alot of raw meat mixed in with her dry food. We also get people look at us as though we have a lion on a lead and not a dog, and people cross the road when they see us coming - it really annoys me. We have socialised Milly really well and she gets on with all other dogs. What part of the country are you? I'm in Bristol. I must be honest I dont about his ears, I thought they stood up when they were between 3 and 6 months but I bet he looks cute anyway. Would love to see a picture of Hector. Julie
