My neighbour has the same problem with his Laguna blower motor only blowing fast. I have offered to look at this with him but have little or no clue where to begin. Is this a big job or can anyone with common sense do it. Can you please steer me in the right direction and give me some idea how to go about this task and what to look for. Regards

If you can post the vehicle details I will find out the location of the resistor pack for you. It will be in one of two locations - either under the dash behind the glove box, or it will be under the bonnet at the bottom of the windscreen behind some plastic trims.(passenger side) Once you have located it, it will simply be a case of disconnecting the old one and plugging in a new one. http://img98.echo.cx/img98/782/laguna4gn.jpg It is normally mounted into the blower fan "box", you will see some wires going to the blower motor and some to the resistor pack, unscrew the resistor pack and unplug it, plug in the new one and away you go... Dave

I have had 2 experiences of this and 1 cost loads and 1 cost less than 2.00. Depending on the age of the car and where the air bags are located. The cheap one was on a 2.2 P reg diesel and getting at the motor involved the removal of the clove box only. On top of the motor is a resistor pack which is on a bayonet fastening to the motor. Disconnect the wiring and turn it anti clock wise and remove. If you take this to renault they will charge you 60. ish, you can either go to a breaker and get another one or replace 1 of the thermal fuses as I did for 2.00 for 5 fuses. the choice is yours. the fuses came from RScomponents. Allthough this is a fix, it may also be a symptom of something else such as a clogged up pollen filter or a clogged up ventilation system. Any problems get bacck to me. Dave
