Hi Hilary, are you talking about the black panels on a hightop? If so,Im not sure but I think they are stuck onto the side of the panel van body with adhesive or adhesive pads.Regards

i have a 1989 peugoet talbot camper van, it has the 2.5 peugoet disel engine, some times the engine will not turn over on the start button, there is a clicking noise coming from the blue box mounted just above the battery i think its called a heater plug relay box, if you open up the box there is a circuit board and a set off contacts inside i think this is the cause of the engne refusing to turn over, the problem starting is trying to start after you have stoped for a minute after a run..... can anyone help .. the writting on the box is faded and i cannot get any part name or number of it.. thanks , Richard.

Have you tried cleaning the contacts in the Box, pull off all spade plugs and use emery paper on them, sounds like a dodgy connection if you've changed the Starter an have new battery

Starter problems.Hi that blue box is the heater relay to the glow plugs. If you have fited a new battery and starter then I bet the fault is in the Earth to the body and engine. Hope this helps . Jimbo

Magnificent, mine does 28mpg, on motorways I cruise at 65 and stay just below the speed limit elsewhere and this is often with the onboard fresh water tank full, it's the 2.5 turbo diesel on a 1992 eldis 350, Bob

Dear all,It has been a while since I've posted and the the van has put in a good few miles around sapin, portgual and sunny cornwall. The miles have taken their toll however, and now (more questions for a later date!) the head gasket seems to have gone... A more pressing issue, however, is the MOT - it needs a new Brake Vacumn Pump. I've just found this one on eBay: PEUGOET BOXER/CITROEN RELAY/FIAT DUCATO 2.5D PRE 2001 BRAKE VACUMN PUMP THE VAPEC NUMBER IS 12A PLEASE CHECK YOURS IS THE SAME PLEASE PROVIDE A CONTACT TELEPHONE NUMBER FOR THE DELIVERY DRIVER. Would that do for my '91 C25??? Quick response would be very very much appreciated. Best regards to all. alex

Starter problems.Hi richard, if you get a decent jump lead and connect it from the engine block direct to the negative post on the battery it will show you have an earthing fault if it now turns the engine over when you try to start her. Just another thought ,are you sure the alternator is ok? Does it start easily from cold? if it does it wont be the earth or alternator or starter or battery or glow plugs. Also you dont need the glow plugs when its hot. Let us know what you find. foxyj.

re dashboard wiring: thanks to all with suggestions for my heater fan-particularly steve. I have replaced the thermal cut0ut- but it still didn't work... turns out the earth connection on drivers side is under where the windscreen leaks a little...., so cleaned up all the earths on this connection and the fan now works (just) BUT, in doing all this , something has made the windscreen wipers, fuel gauge and temp gauge pack up.... I don't think they're on the same earth point, and it's not a fuse in the fuse box...Any ideas? J

Hi jaybird, I'm pretty sure you'll find that the earth connection for the radiator fan is on the nearside flitch (inner wing) panel (remove spare wheel to see it). It's a 'cup' shaped multi-spade connector with several black wires attached. I suggest you remove all the wires, cut off their spades and crimp on some small ring connectors. Then remove the 'cup' thing, throw it away, and attach all the ring connectors to the threaded post instead. Use a serrated washer under the first ring and, after connection, coat the whole thing in vaseline for good measure. There is a similar earthing point under the dashboard, above the *!#%!@ wheel arch - difficult, but not impossible, to access (you'll need a torch!). It's worth doing the same thing to that one as well. As a general rule with these vehicles, if you have electrical problems the first thing you should be looking at is the earth points! Hope that helps Regards D
