hi Fraser,
i,m Julie and I live near manchester Airport, do you know the names of the prams, are they on straps or detachables.
I have just bought a wilson pram from the 1960,s and am restoring it with the help of my hubby and the pram group I belong to. maybe you could take some pics of the prams, and if you wanted send them to my email [Log in to view email] and se if I can tell you what make they are.

I trained (as a norland nanny) using silver cross type coach built prams and love them. I would like to buy one to do up, idealy with a lift out section so two older babies can sit facing each other with feet dangling down in the middle. Where on earth do I start looking for one and what sort of price should I expect to pay? Any general advice for someone who has never done this sort of thing before? (Like don't start!)

Thanks

have just bought a lovely old coach built hard bodied sage green & dark green pram, it is like a Silver Cross but it can't be as it only has a silver plaque with OLIVIA written on it. Does anyone know anything about OLIVIA prams? I'm really interested in the pram's history. Thanks

Hi,
I don't know where you can get tyres as i am having the same problem trying to get tyres for my Silver Cross Silver Stream pram. I think i am going to have to buy the whole wheel with the tyre on. There is a company, http://www.babybirds.co.uk who sell all new parts for the Balmoral, Silver Stream and lots of other prams too. The new wheels for my pram cost between £64 and £73 each.
Regards, Zoe.

I am renovating a beautiful Swan pram, navy and white, there are parts that Silver Cross parts service do not do, also they are very expensive and the Swan is a better pram than Silver Cross.
Does anyone know of other sources of spare parts for carriage prams.

Thanks

Pauline

Hello
I saw your conversation about restoring old prams and hope you don't mind me picking your brains. I am restoring a Silver Cross Corniche for my grandchild arriving in the Summer. It is in fairly goos nick but I have two areas to deal with, 1. The hood is unbroken and unstained but "dust dirty" and I'm unsure how to clean. And 2. the interior of the hood (the washable plasticy rubbery lining has a couple of small tears and I am at a loss as to how to repair these. I know I sound pretty useless but I am trying, honest!! hi, warm soapy water and a scrubbing brush, rinse well and put the hood up and the apron back on whilst wet. The interior can be cleaned with kitchen cleaner then wiped over with a smear of baby oil to stop the cloth drying out too much
hope this helps

The spray is great as a last resort but goes sticky with time.
