Hi Pauline,
I haven't done anything about the tyres yet as i am having my silver stream pram professionally resprayed at a garage. I did make a note of the place who can make new tyres. The company is called, Aquaseal Ltd and they are based in Newcastle, tel : 0191 2624555 and ask for Jason. He has dealt with people before who want tyres for their prams. I'm sure someone on the forum said it cost around £50.00 for 4 new tyres. Hope this helps. Best wishes. Zoe.

Hi, I need help, I have just bought a Royale 1964/65 pram on e.bay, but the two hubcaps, bearings and pins are missing or damaged from the larger back wheels. Does anyone know how or where I could get these repaired. The rims and spokes are fine. I have bought the pram for our first grandchild due in September, so I have a little time to work on it.
Thanks, Tricia

Hi Pauline,

Thanks for letting me know. £60 is a very good price considering how much one can pay. Did you have to send a wheel or two wheels if the front and back are different sizes and how much does it cost for postage please? I would be grateful for any information. I have a couple of prams which need new tyres but i wonder how many wheels i need to send to them? How long did they say it would take? Kind regards. Zoe.

SILLY ME! I HAVE JUST REALISED! OF COURSE, I WOULD HAVE TO SEND ALL FOUR WHEELS SO THEY CAN PUT THE NEW TYRES ON!

I have just joined this group and am restoring a navy Wilson Park Ward pram. I only need the four short suspension straps, and £45 seems a bit steep. Can you advice anywhere to buy them, or an alternative source of straps, e.g. equestrian shop? Many thanks. Valerie

Just found this site and was wondering if anyone can help me? I have a Restmor coach built pram which I bought second hand 30 years ago, and used it for my 3 sons, it then went to Holland and was used by my cousin for her 2 daughters. It is wooden bodied, black with gold coach lines and a ceramic? plaque in the middle. It doesn't have the leather straps but sits on the support bars fastened at the sides with the type of metal catches found on old briefcases. It always attracts a lot of attention and I am always being asked how old it is but I've got no idea. If anyone can help me or point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it as I hope to be able to use it in the future for grandchildren

Thank you so much, but they are where it costs £45, and my costs for restoration are beginning to soar. I'm going to try a saddler's, in case I can get the four short straps more cheaply. I have the two long side straps already.

To VH
If you have the original buckles , then take them to a cobblers , rather than a saddlers. I have done this recently and got new ones made for
£1.50 each in good quality leather. If you dont have the buckles then
someone suggested to me going to a pet shop and buying dog or cat collars, obviously you need to measure first. Failing this, try a wanted ad on preloved or similar. Hope this helps.

That is so helpful Carolyn, thank you! I'll see if I can find a more old fashioned cobbler. Valerie

Valerie
Forgot to say that because my cobbler didnt have any small offcuts of
leather I bought a leather belt from a charity shop - it cost a £1 and
he was quite willing to use that to cut the straps from.Charity shops are
great for getting leather belts from as you can get rummage and get the right thickness etc. So the charge of £1.50 per strap was for cutting and attaching the original buckle - but still a bargain. Often it doesnt have to be a cobbler as such, keycutters who also do shoe repairs will sometimes do it.
Regards
Carolyn
