Hi, I have recently bought a 1960 coach built pram by Manton Delmar, I am very keen to restore it, it needs new wheels/tyres, new hood and apron and possibly a repaint. Can anyone help me with suppliers where I can hopefully purchase the bits and pieces I need, failing this I might have to consider sending it away for a total restoration but the cost of this seems to be ENORMOUS, has anyone done this and can they recommend a restorer? Many thanks.

Hello everyone, I am renovating a 1950`s pushchair, please can anyone tell me where I can get hold of rubber for the handle? Previously it had a white ribbed type rubber tubing which has perished. If you have any suggestions for an alternative that would also be helpful. Aquaseal are very helpful for anyone looking for replacement tyres. I sent them an old split tyre and they then had the correct measurment to make me 4 new tyres. fran

Hello Maria, many thanks indeed for your messages regarding pram restoration, I use a firm in Newcastle called Aquaseal Rubber Ltd, unit 13 Point Pleasent Industrial Est. Wallsend, Nr Newcastle England tel no is 0191 2624555. & ask for Jason, there are very helpfulindeed & I get all my work done from them they charge £50 for 4 large Wilson wheels. 24/18" I think that is the standard price they charge. any repainting I need doing I have done by a car painter. I hope this message helps anyone out there who needs new tyres for there vintage pram. if anyone needs help in any other areas of pram restoration please feel free to ask & I will pass on any help or advice & tel no as I know a few people who could help restore vintage prams to there former glory. bye for now catherine.

hi marie a lot of the vintage (antique not classic) pram restorers use fuel pipe for their very thin iron wheels. The classic prams(silvercross, marmet, royale etc) need rubber tyres with metal inner coil. Beware of anything else as it will not be fitted tight enough to actually use the pram as the tyres will fall off in use. regards susan
