and the dash interior when did the production of this colour pram cease. THANKS.
Sorry to be so long getting back to you. My e-mail address [Log in to view email] if you would like to get in touch with me about the Osnath. Thanks
Loving this site i am looking to buy another old coach built pram has to be usable or i dont mind a little bit of restoration but no rechroming .I would love a big old marmet or a wilson but not green or grey and must be able to take a shopping tray if you can help please email me at [Log in to view email] thanks christine
The model i beleive is a Carlton, If its in a bad way i would look for another one on ebay as these flat bottom models go quite cheap , so its not worth the expence of refurbishing. To recover the hood you will need an industrial sewing machine, and experience of reapolstering. I have never done one, but i think it would be hard to get it right. A new hood, apron & bed can be ordered from Heritage prams, but your looking at £200, then a respray £100 + in a spray shop then you will need a signwriter to redo the coachlines, £?? . Hope this helps. RGS Karen
If you send me your email address I may be able to help regarding the frame Thanks Joanne
First of all, the first reply about the model was the correct one, it is a Grosvenor and not a Carleton! Looking at the photograph I wonder if the chassis joints are worn as they look very dipped downwards, they should be more horizontal so it's worth checking. If there is too much 'play' in the joints it may not be safe to use. The trouble with getting fabric to recover the outside is that the lining may be difficult to re-use, I don't know as I haven't tried myself but it's a valid point and so is worth thinking about. I hope this helps and good luck, nice to hear a young couple want a proper pram!
I wanted to email Joanne and barb but it dosen't seem to list your email addresses! If you or anyone else can help with any of this though you can contact me through [Log in to view email] once again, thanks very much for all the replies, I'm half tempted towards the possibility of perhaps scrapping the idea of refurbishing this one and buying another coach built pram in slightly better condition, although it would be a shame as I was quite looking forward to seeing the end result! Chris.

What make is your pram? There are people out there who would be able to re-cover your hood. But there are also lots of collectors who would be happy to buy it as a project.
There are several people who you can use to replace hoods and aprons,
I have sent you an e-mail, yesterday, before I posted the message on the forum, it has photos of the pram for you to see. Thanks for your message.
I dont know why but the message hasnt come through. Just to confirm my e-mail again [Log in to view email] - I think I put a capital c last time!! Would love to see the pram photos.
Im so sorry you didnt get my email, I had to copy the address to a new page as on that day my pc wouldnt allow me to click on it and open into email straight away. Im on Vista and it gets a bit temperamental at times. (It was an afterthought to put a message on the forum in case there was a problem). We were surprised at how clean and how good the condition the pram was when we got it down. It has been in separate pieces all this time, since 1976, all wrapped up as it has been so precious to me, but now our youngest son is a father of a 4 month old baby girl and it looks like the pram wont ever be used by my family, so I suppose its about time to see it go to a new owner. We did have to replace the straps, but that was easy as we only had to buy some good leather, cut it to size and put the original buckles on, and as we have a rivet tool it was easy to replace the rivets and make the necessary holes. It needs new brake pads and I see they are only about £8, but its the hood that really needs replacing. The rest of it is in very good condition, I would be happy to put my 4 month old baby granddaughter in it and take her for a walk - but thats not going to be. We also have the original horsehair mattress, but couldnt find the canopy, we think it was sold to a friend some years ago. I have sent this together with photos in an email [Log in to view email] I do hope you get it this time.
many thanks.louise
