I have just inherited a black silvercross pram bought in 1959 - although beautiful it does need some TLC does anyone know where I can get a replacement black apron and hood and other parts - I have tried heritage prams but they are quoting £145 ! Also I don't know the model of the pram I have - it is black with a gold arc on the body , the body measures 40 '' in length and is a rounded shape 15'' deep - . Any idea's as I need to know the model to get a quote. Thanks Carolyn

Hello, I bought a triang dolls pram circa 50's/60's in need of minor TLC. Actually needs restoration! I wanted to know if anyone has sent one away and roughly the costs. I'm not actually worried about pristine but together and fresh would be a distinct advantage on it coming indoors! I believe all the parts are there it was assembled in auction pic and taken apart for posting, another lesson learned, collection best. It's dark red and would look lovely restored at this rate it'll be going to the tip! thanks

Just to let everyone interested in getting a pram restored professionally - I have been completely ripped off by Carriage Trimmers Ltd. A man called Neal Hine took two prams for restoration, one a much loved family pram, plus a substantial amount of money and has "done a runner". According to Trading Standards he has ripped off other people and when police and Trading Standards raided his last known premises with a warrant they only found a few bits and pieces, so if you go onto any sites offering restoration or spare parts, check out who it is!

that's very interesting thanks for that. I have found one site that seems totally reputable through Witch something and I found one a while ago where the couple show their prams once a year but for love nor money can I find it again. They seem totally above board as well.

Hi, I have recently found an old pram in my loft, it is a hard bodied silver cross. I am very keen to find out more about it, could you please offer me some advice as to its approximate age and value? Regards. Jax.

IF you contact silver cross you can buy most paint colours direct though a smallish pot costs about £10. Or I use metalic car paint on mine for touch ups at half the price and there is no difference on my navy pram

Hello, I am sure you have had many replies to this question, but i recently had my hood and apron re-done by alison murphett you is top of her field for pram restoration, she does everything, from part restoration to a full restoration, and has a huge collection of prams, so im sure she could give you a little history on the pram, i've pasted a website that has a few examples of her work and also an address and telephone number. http://www.whichcraftstudio.com/pram_restoration.html I hope this helps. I have an older dolls pram which i would like to identify the maker of.There are no makers marks that i can see. Is there a publication which could help ? I`m guessing it could be 1920`s/30`s.

Hello, if you email the people at the jack hampshire museum they are normally pretty good at identifying prams, if you can email them a photo of the pram that would help them a lot! Jo
