Hi ladies
This is a pic of the Royale Dolls pram handle which I recovered in the white tubing from Sandra. If you go to her site - Coachbuilt prams - perfect elegance and then click on Prammie Supplies you will find it and the instructions for doing it complete with pics etc. I do believe, but could be wrong here, that she has gone away for 3/4 weeks. To say I was delighted with the result is an understatement!

The handle looks lovely judith, did it sink into the name on the handle?
(if there was one). Am going to have a go myself.

Hi Rosie. There wasn't a name on the handle. Can I just add to my previous posting that the plastic goes rock hard just as they are when new. There are no air bubbles or baggy bits, just a lovely smooth handle.
Another thing, the wood was perfect with no bits gouged out or splits. I think you have to use wood filler first if there are any and them sand the handle smooth before fitting the new tube.

>Hello Madge. I just wonder if you would be able to get the handle ends/caps back on with two thicknesses of covering. When the covering has shrunk it is thicker than it is when unshrunk, if you get my drift. Someone else may know of some other reason. The covering shrinks well to wood but it may not shrink and harden to other things such as original cover. Hope this helps. Judith

Hi Madge. Once you get your cover off and if the handle is perfect it takes minutes only to attach the new covering. Hope you manage to finish your pram. Judith

Lynn looking at your chassis it appears the same as one i have that is beyond use as its so rusty, i saved the wheels off it they are a bit rusty havent botherd to clean then due to finding the pram the day i was moving house so its been left to its own devises in the shed for now, i think they will fit your pram thay are all the same size..

'The white covering for handles, is there any reason why the old covering has to come off before the new covering goes on? I have some from Sandra and was getting my Manton handle ready to be done, stopped when I saw discussion about it, timing. Marge'

Hi Marge, yes you must remove the old covering first really because the chrome ends to the handle may not fit and certainly if the original handle covering is damage you have to remove it.

If the wooden part of the handle is damaged ie if there is a piece of wood missing or some other hole in the wood, then the new covering will shrink down into the 'hole' left on the handle, so you should fill it with wood filler and sand it smooth before putting on the new covering.

Someone asked if you can put the covering onto other material other than wood. I had an Osnath Braemar given to me, it has a 'folding' handle with a rubbery type of handle cover on it which was a deep, deep yellow. Awful. So I tried covering that and it worked a treat, it's like new now. of course there was no covering on that handle to remove.

So I don't think it matters particularly what the material that you are covering is, I think it is just down to whether the covering will fit over the item you want to cover. I have bought a couple of different sizes.

I am wondering the same thing Shezzy. This site used to be such a friendly place, everyone trying to help one another and reading previous messages it seems someone out there is being very petty reporting other people for trying to help. We are all "prammies" together on here and a great bunch of people I have always found. I wouldn't have thought mentioning that one of us supplies something another wants constitutes an "advert". It's not as though we have to pay to advertise on Preloved classifieds is it, so why the quibbles I wonder!

Hi. I wonder why anyone would be so petty as to complain about Tina's message and others which have been reported. It's not going to be a 'prammie' cos they would only be shooting themselves in the foot. Could it be someone who doesn't post on here and just watches and lurks waiting for someone to offer something to someone and then gets peeved 'cos they think that business is being taken away from them? Mind you, this happens on the 'other' auction site when someone inadvertently puts a word in their advert which someone takes exception to.
There are some very sad people who ought to get on with their lives and let others actually enjoy theirs. Judith

Hi everyone, I was the one who asked Tina if she could help me with some adaptors for the dolls pram,Tina did NOT advertise the fact she could get me some,I feel awful this has happened to her,it's got to the point you're nearly afraid to open your mouth in case someone takes offence,I agree it can't be another "prammie",as we all try to help each other out, just some sad individual with nothing better to do I guess. Hope I haven't offended anyone !! Linda
