Hello Lynn

Unfortunately those rings in the apron are not meant to come out so they are extremely difficult to shift and the only way is to cut round them, but that leaves an even bigger hole so you would need to put a bigger ring through it.

The same applies to the press stud type of fastening, they are pressed together with a machine and are not meant to come out.

Would it not be possible to cut the lining out of the apron and use it for a new one, although you would only be able to use part of it to line the new one.

Luckily the Lift the Dot fasteners are quite simple to get out and can be used again and they also leave a small hole which could accommodate a new Lift the Dot fastener if required without altering the size of the hole.

Pat.

Oooh Sian, really I don't advise a heat gun, you really don't need that much heat, it is amazing to see it shrink with a humble hairdryer, it really is. I have got a bog standard hairdryer, nothing fancy and it isn't an expensive one either but it does the job beautifully. wioth no effort at all and in a couple of minutes, if that. I wonder whether a heat gun might be too fierce for it, it might even damage the covering. Try a hairdryer and then if it won't work (which I can't see at all) you can tell him that he was right all the time! Men - they do like to interfere don't they? LoL

No Kathy, really a heat gun isn't necessary, honestly.

Thanks Sandra, I suspect the heatgun was purchased to satisfy his macho aspirations. You know men, any machine that is bigger, better and stronger than the norm is an absolute must for them.

I will take great delight in relaying your warning to him and shame him into using my little Revlon hairdryer.

love - Sian

I am about to transport my London Baby Coach which I had for my own children to a son in London who is longing to push his new born son out in the family pram! The pram is in very good condition but missing one domed handle nut and 2 nuts from the hood levers .Also one side of the apron needs the chrome eyelet which secures the hood storm cover in position on the outside of the pram and the inner leather one as well.

Can anyone advise where I could get replacements or any alternatives please?

I am in Hale Altrincham but as from this weekend the pram will be in Putney London.Surprisingly ,having removed only the handle, we are able to fit it into the back of a Honda Jazz!

Any suggestions will be really appreciated

Hello Catherine,
I am looking for nuts for the hood levers on a London Baby Coach plus a chrome eyelet for securing the storm cover of the apron to the hood and an internal leather eyelet for attaching the apron inside the pram. Can you help please?

Hi Sian

To be fair, Sandra obviously has the low temperature lightweight heatshrink which will shrink using the lower heat of a hairdrier, but I have used a heatshrink which didn't budge with a hairdrier and I had to go and buy a heatgun which did the job without a problem. So it all depends upon the thickness of the heatshrink. There are also quite a few sizes on ebay which vary in price.

Pat

Eyelets can be got in any haberdashery shop along with the tool to put them in.
As for replacement parts try that auction and selling site (n cant mention name begins with E) if you have no luck on here.

I got my LBC in my toyota with handle on and putting it in sideways...
