Thanks Sandra, I suspect the heatgun was purchased to satisfy his macho aspirations. You know men, any machine that is bigger, better and stronger than the norm is an absolute must for them.I will take great delight in relaying your warning to him and shame him into using my little Revlon hairdryer. Hi Sian To be fair, Sandra obviously has the low temperature lightweight heatshrink which will shrink using the lower heat of a hairdrier, but I have used a heatshrink which didn't budge with a hairdrier and I had to go and buy a heatgun which did the job without a problem. So it all depends upon the thickness of the heatshrink. There are also quite a few sizes on ebay which vary in price. Pat Hi Pat, yes that's right. I have got some of the stronger/thicker covering which would take a heat gun to shrink it, ( I am hoping that that will make a decent hand grip for my Carltons) but the one that I use for covering a coachbuilt pram handle is the low temperature heat shrink, no need for the heat guns with that.

I've just purchased a 1950's Lines Bros. LTD pram and am having a hard time finding out anything about them, much less how to go about restoring it!! I've been told to polish the chrome with steel wool, followed by wax, but I'm not sure this is correct? The bassinet part of the pram has quite a few scratches to the paint and I have no clue how to fix this. Additionally, a rubber wheel has fallen off, so it will need to be replaced, if it isn't repairable. I would love any and all input on how to begin undertaking this project-THANK YOU!I never use wire wool on chrome personally, though I know people who do, I use an own label cream cleanser (something like Cif) and a washing up sponge, the type with a nylon scourer fixed to one side. Use that to really get the chrome and the tyres scrubbed clean. No need to even rinse it off your chrome, use a dry cloth or kitchen towel and it polishes up a real treat, very quick to do and very cheap of course. I have tried Autoglyn but to be honest it doesn't do as good a job in my opinion. I always forget about Lines Brothers aren't they the Pedigree people? There isn't much info around about them I'm afraid, but I'm sure that you will find info on here.

Sandra, I am sure I read in one of the editions of Perambulator Times that Jackie Moss of West Wales has/had an aunt who worked at the Lines Bros/ Pedigree pram factory in Merthyr Tydfil. There was a cracking photo of the aunt with her own pram from the factory which she worked at. Perhaps Jackie knows a bit about the prams. I am sure Beth could put you in contact but most probably you have her details somewhere. Love - Sian

Hi Pat, Just wondering if this is one of yours. It is on a pram for sale not far from me. Picture below. Yes Val, it's one of my early ones by the looks of the canopy. I cut them a little differently now! They seem to be turning up all over the place!! Px

Hi. The Lines Brothers started off the Tri-ang trademark. There were three brothers therefore three lines - a triangle. Quite a clever marketing ploy really. Judith

Hi Joanne, this model 300364724914 is called a toy Wilsonette. It's a dolls version of a the baby Wilsonette, which was available with or without a hood. They were popular in the 50s & 60s. The later versions of the dolls model has plastic wheels, as opposed to metal. Kathy

Hello Ladies. Does anyone have, for sale, any of the spacers/bushes which fit onto the rods which go through the sides of a 1960 deep bodied SX dolls pram. Out of 4 of these only one is perfect, three are cracked and one has a bit missing. 1, 2, 3 or even 4 would be acceptable even from different people. The bushes/spacers are quite flat with a metal insert. See pic. Many thanks. Judith
