Ive been reading this thread and watching it carefully. People saying the Kinroad xt-18 50 is amazing, some... not so agreeing. Well im here to help as much as possible. Firstly, i got my kinroad back in February, and yes there has been problems. + First of all, the wiring is cr*p. Really its terrible, bits can burn out and the connectors, the old bullet and hole connectors are rubbish. to fix this i suggest replacing all the connectors with new flat slide in ones , these are quite cheap and can save allot of hassle. + Secondly, the rev counter and or speedo, (clocks in general) unfortunately these aren't very good. my speedo is about 5 mph off, and the rev counter doesn't work at all. Im working on fixing this. + the dreaded side stand problem. On this bike the side stand has been known to come down allot whilst riding. this cuts out the engine which can, in turn be very dangerous. To fix this, i just angle grinded some of the metal away from where the side stand goes up, and replaced the spring, with the spring from the center stand that came with it. + ive heard people moan about things falling off etc, but when you get the bike, its always advised to tighten every nut and bolt etc. Thats not rocket science. + the chain, yes the chain comes loose every so often, and it can be annoying. Luckily for me, mine hasn't after the first tightening, but to fix this you would most probably want to buy a god make English chain. + Spark plug. the Chinese spark plug isn't that all decent, but replace it with a English one and, again it works fine, Also, you might want to replace the spark plug lead, from the coil with a English one thats waterproof. If you cant get hold of one, just make sure you gap the original spark plug, clean it a little, put the old spark plug cap on and put some rubber electrical tape around it, this should work as for waterproofing. + Flasher box (indicator relay) i had a problem with this as its got a small hole in it and faces the way you drive, which leads to water getting into it if you in the wet. First of all the wires came loose under the seat for my back indicators, but if you replace the connectors that doesn't happen, but secondly i just brought a Yamaha indicator relay and its worked perfect ever since. I also relocated it to the small plastic box under the seat, to prevent further water damage. + gear lever. Be careful, mine hasn't snapped, but it is a bit flimsy. These things arent to be stamped on when you want to change gear, seriously, try it out and just push it down like you would a sewing machine peddle. + De-restricting. everyones wants to go faster, but the truth is, its not built to. In my opinion, 30 mph is dangerous. So the ways to de restrict it are : + Buy the unrestricted CDI unit. it'll get you about 10 mph more. + Open the air filter and replace the crappy sponge in there with something else, the sponge gets wet and doesn't help. I used to kitchen extractor fan filter, it works perfect. This got me another 5mph. + the pipe from the carburettor to the engine, is restricted at the engine end by 3 ml, letting only 12 ml of petrol in, when the engine wants 15ml. drill this away and it will get you another 10mph. +Get some decent expensive English in there. Yeah it might be 15 pounds, but its better than the Chinese oil stuff thats in there a the moment. it really helps. this alone can get you 5mph faster too. to drain the oil , put the bike on the center stand, take the oil cap off (right side of the engine), and undo a bolt under the engine and let the oil drain. Ill try and get some pictures up if possible. Alas, ive hit some more problems on my bike, where it simply wont start at the momment. After trial and error it turns out the problems either the Generator (magneto/ pulse generator) , the CDI, or the Coil. Ive just brought all these parts again to fix the problem and ill let you guys know of what it was. ive found the best place to buy parts is xlingling world. Google will give you the website. Thats all for now, These bikes are good bikes really, for the price anyhow. Yeah a brand new aprilia RS50 might not have problems, but then again a brand new RS50 is 2,500 pounds. You cant buy this bike and not expect problems. But in my opinion, its amazing. Ill add more as i carry on with my Kinroad adventures.

Anyway, Theres a small screw on the carburettor with a gold head, that needs a flat head screwdriver to turn it, that controls the revs on tick over, have that higher, but not stupidly high during the winter times. As for it not starting, check everything in my previous posts TERRYH.
