please can anyone tell me what sort of speeds a kinroad xt50 does when restricted and how many miles you have to do before getting it derestricted. also what speeds does this bike do when derestricted. thanks
Im new to this forum but have been watching it for some time now. The XT50-18 can be a very good bike if it is well look after and given plenty of maintenance. The biggest problem atm is lack of tech information. Most garages wont touch a kinroad at all because it is a chinese bike which in the past have burnt the fingers of the garages! Because of this if something goes wrong your stuck high and dry. Well not any more if you have any problems and need tech information give me a call on 07727612398 any time. Restricted you will get 30-35 max. De-restricted 50-55 but that is after doing alot of work. To get 50-55 you need to change a few parts. Cheers
thanks for that. what kind of work would be needed doing and what parts would be needed. a couple of my mates have got 50cc dirt bike and theres goes 60-65 and all they have done have got it de-restricted and chancged front and back sprocket. how many miles are needed doing before gettg it de-restricted thanks
The engine in a xt50-18 is a four stroke monkey bike engine. The four stroke engines are slower giving out the power than a 2 stroke engine. This is not the case with bigger 4 stroke engines just the smaller ones such as the 50cc. I would say never de-restrict a engine that has done less than 200 miles. Putting a 80 jet in the carb. The carb will have a 60 jet in it atm which is realy to small. Change the cdi unit, see if you can get the inlet mainflod bored out as the engine wants more fuel than is being supplied atm. With sprocets it depends on what you want. If you more top end speed then change the rear to a small size and if you want better accellration then change the rear one to a bigger size. Dont bother changing the front one it is better do change the rear one. cheers
I have a xt50-18, i have changed the cdi unit and i was just wondering if you know any were i can get a 80 jet for the carb?. Also can any othe exhausts fit on the xt50-18? THanx
You can get an 80 jet from a company called Xinling world. Most exhausts will fit because most are universal but check before buying. My advise to all you who are looking for a cheap bike, don't buy a Kinroad. I bought my son one when he turned 16. He used it for a few months and then everything started falling off. It is not going at all now. We got a new spark plug and lead as well as some other bits. The bike is still not working and my son and i are really getting depressed about the whole thing, i am going to have to take it to a garage, more expense for a bike that really should be banned for being such a rip off. Contacted the dealer, he won't reply to any emails or calls, mmmmm wonder why. The plastics are also rubbish. Be warned, don't waste your money.
They only start to fall apart if not well maintained. You have to check that everything is done up and not loose at least every 2 days when used. cheers
when he is 17 he wants my other bike a yamaha dt125 made in 1988 and a thousand times better than a kinroad take my advice stick with the "big four" when it comes to buying a bike
Claim on warrenty if its still under a year. cheers
Check if its the electric box which the ht lead goes into. They go wrong alot and are not hard to get hold of. cheers
