Hi Sandra, get somebody to work there way through this, http://hypermotos.com/helpGB.html the answer will be there somewhere.

Have you replaced the nasty spark plug that it comes with?? that would be my first port of call

Sandra,
It could one of many things, the first things I would try is try and narrow the fault down to is it an electricial or mechanical fault.

Take the spark plug out and make sure you are gatting a healthy spark (ensure the plug has a good earth against the engine when checking)

My son has had a Kinroad Xt 50 Sports from new and the first time he had it out in the wet it cut out just like you describe. There is a cut out switch on the side stand which I had to end up disconnecting ( shorting out )

Then the recttifier unit went and I had to buy a new one various silly electricial problems.

Be very carefull when adjusting the chain, as when I also adjusted it you MUST ensure the engine mounting / securing bols are tight because if there not what will happen is the rear wheel will pull on the enginge backwards until it hits the bike frame and then you will find yourself with a hole in the gearbox casing ( like I did ).

These bikes do take a lot of looking after which includes making sure the engine valve clearances are correct as this does affect the performance and the ability for the engine to start / run smothly.

Good luck, hope this has helped.

Cheers
Ian.

Hi James the XT50GY is fine if you look after it well, it sounds to me like the valves are tight, (common problem on these bikes, they do tighten up, especially the exhaust valve) but go to http://www.hypermotos.com/helpGB.html and just work your way through, you will find the answer there somewhere, these are robust little engines, just need to get them set properly.

Hi
does anyone know which chain i could use to replace the chain on my son's Kinroad XT50-18Q bike, he has the original chain on the bike but it keeps stretching, someone told us that we should replace it with a compatable chain, but they didn't know which make and model was compatable with a kinroad, i would be grateful for any advise
Thanks
Sandra

Hi SIM

You can get at a manual here,
http://www.hondaheaven.org/Album-C70_shopm......ual-page-1.html
The site is a good reference for small honda based engines.
Also you can get spares from http://www.hypermotos.com/partsGB.html they are not always the cheapest but do offer good service and advice.

Good luck
TERRYH

Hi, you should post a picture of your engine up on the forum otherwise nobody will have a clue what might be missing.

Hi everyone. I've just bought a Kinroad XT50Q 50cc chopper. It's a 55 plate. It seems to be running ok down the back lane but I'll not be on the road for a couple of days yet to test it properly. If anyone could email me a manual for this bike it would be much appreciated. I'd like to have some info incase I need to fix bits or work on the performance. The indicators don't flash (just stay on) at the moment so that's the first thing I need to sort out. Please email [Log in to view email] with the bike manual if you have it (anyone) also any other advise is appreciated. I've read various info about de-restricting and am interested in that. If anyone knows more about my particular model (2005) then please share your experiences. Thanks, Lewis.
