hi.. on the bike we have ..... the left hand cover has two bungs / chrome screws. one which is the centre of the crank the other which lines up with the outer rim of the rotor.. use the centre off the hole to tdc mark..
there is also a mark/ dip on the casting of the head at the top, at the camwheel aperture to line the camwheel mark with.
we have no manual.. not sure if there is one. only the owners manual.

Hi Guys

I am new to these forums and new to Kinroad.

My son has bought a XT50Q in pieces, I have go the engine in and together but I am struggling with the wiring.

From what I gather there are no manuals for these bikes.

Does anyone have any wiring diagrams?

Also where can I find out if I have a dealer fairly local to me.

Many Thanks

Regards

David

My nephew decided to take the carb apart on his XT50-18. Can anyone give me a picture of either side of their carb so I can put the pipes back?

Hi...have an xt50 and quite happy with it so far. Not going over 37 mph yet but working on it. Changed the air filter& got it to start better. Also got the pipe drilled and it does go up the hill now ;) Going after the CDI and exhaust next but a user manual would be a great help. If anyone does have one, please send me a copy at [Log in to view email]
thanks!

Which pipe is it that you can drill out? I can't find it.

The inlet manifold, the pipe that goes between the engine and the carb.

Well hi all,

These bikes are a pain in the backside!

That said lol my sons having problems with TDC!

We have read the postings and still have no luck with the bike. We have a spark ! we have fuel ! we even have time but we dont have a manual (seems knowone has one) and we have tried the advice from previous posts but we have a problem with the little cogged wheel cam i think!

It has JD on it with a dot if we position this to the top of the engine

ie 12 oclock position as opposed to 9 o''clock would this fix it ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

tdc is found with dot at top of engine ie 9 oclock position.
when you look in where cam sprocket is on the inside at this position you will find a raised arrow pointer in the casting

Hi I am looking for some spare parts for my daughters 50QT, we basically need the front end.
Forks, handle bars, headlight, mirrors, so anyone breaking one for spares would be handy.

For those looking for a manual for the engine side - it is based on the Honda C70 / 90 series I used their stuff downloaded and changed the top end from 50cc to 70cc. As a complete novice the info was excellent, there are just a few minor differences.
As a 50cc the engine was not performing, in fact it had died so the £90 upgrade kit was great.

it seems theres a flat spot in the throttle (motor stumbles) and i find it hard to find parts too! the left side gasket leaks and i used ground black pepper to stop it (i dont recommend doing this except extream emergencys) i paid 200 dollars US for my bike with only 4k miles on it so i take chances that others wouldint there seems to be no way to make it go faster except to order a bigger motor

HI..
my son has just come out the other end of kinroad owner ship.......
if you would like my opinion.......
DONT DO IT...... WALK AWAY.. no run.......faster......
if you want something chinesse have a take away.
in the last nine months;
two pistons.
exploding front spocket.
ever closing tappet gap. ( check this if you are having starting promblems.)
broken swing arm bolt.( one off a 89 honda cg 125 fits)
split exhaust pipe. at various places.
broken engine brackets. o that was when the bolts didnt keep coming undone.
starter relay failed.
kick start lever jamming closed. ( so now he had to bump start it)
speedo failed.
petrol gauge never worked.
inlet manifold broke in half.
air filter fell off.
front mudguard fell off ( if you have every had this one yon know how dangerous it is...)
various brackets on the frame also failed..
parts are nearly impossible to get.

and before any replys with a ..... you dont know what your on about mate....my's great... i've fixed and ridden bikes for over thirty years,
and i cant polish this turd.....
if you can weld and have a workshop it could be fun.. or deep pockets...
if not buy a honda.....
the only thing i dont understand is why we brought the thing in the first place...... but least my son can fix bikes now...

Hi Harry. Not sure if you're still happy to give advice on the XT50-18 but I've recently got one for my son. It's just over a year old and only manages about 27mph with the wind behind it. Can yo offer anything to get more speed out of it?
