My partner has just put her old escort back on the road. She has the serial number and the keycode for the radio but the display is static (rather than flashing) and doesn't let her enter any numbers. Any idea what the problem could be? Help gratefully received!

disconect the power for one hour then power it back up see if that sorts it firstly if it has a romovable security front make sure the contacts are clean and the front is clipped in correctly

Much appreciated, I couldn't enter the code just now & I believe I've got to leave the ignition left on for a period of time before it'll reset itself. Ho-hum, I'll find something else to be getting on with in the meantime :)

Hi guys
inherited a 1996 ford mondeo a couple of years ago - battery got disconnected a couple of weeks ago and bang - no radio cos it wants me to enter a code. It's a keycode2006 cassette radio - I don't know how to take the radio out and get the serial number. Can anyone help - it's driving us mad because my beloved 20 year old volvo has just failed its mot and the was the one that played music!
And if I get the radio out, will someone help me with the keycode?

if you look in each corner of the stereo there should be a little hole in each corner, you need something to puch into these holes to release it, you can buy the tool on ebay,item number 140224655711, then you will get the serial number, it will start with m , come back here with this number then you will get the code, hope this helps, cheers, gordon.
