Like all HCS fiestas mine rattles like mad. I believe this is because the rockers wear and have grooves where you want to measure clearances.
I don't remember that being a problem on 1970s Escorts etc.

Why does it happen on the fiestas and how can you stop it. (the car is not worth spending a fortune on). I have been told a Bodgit way to do it (grind the grooves out of the rockers) but I would like a permanent solution.

Its more likely the camshafts worn. I`ve come across worn camshafts a few times and have never had one with worn rockers.

Probably as well to put up with it then.

Why does the HCS engine suffer so badly from this? I have never heard an ohv Fiesta that didn't rattle, though most aren't as bad as mine.
