6 months is the length of time the tour operator has in which to complete their investigations and to admit liability.

ABTA ARBITRATION

Claims involving illness CANNOT be dealt with via Arbitration. You will need a lawyer.

I have just arrived off my holiday in Turkey at the Club Belizia 4*+ Hotel and would like to respond to my query regarding the hygiene standards and other complaints made on the Prelove forum.

Personnaly (and I can only relate to my family exsperience and other persons that we spoke to at the Club Belisia) the Hotel is very nice indeed.

No member of my family got any sort of stomach upset that we could relater to the Club Belizia and I didn't hear of any body complaining either.

The rooms are cleaned every day and my only complaints are:

1/ There is no air conditioning in the lounge area but all bedrooms are air conditioned therfore all guest who reside in the lounge area pay the same price for a non- air conditioned room.
2/ We had to change the shower curtain as it was stained at the bottom and looked old.

The staff are the most wonderfull people I have ever meet on my travels and that goes for all the Turkish people in Bodrum.

My biggest complaint is the MINI BAR!! This is the biggest rip off ever. We were taken to ower room by a portor who could not speak English and shown the contents of the fridge that was filled with alcoholic and soft beverages and a pack of peanuts. We were NOT told that this was to be PAID for and to be frank the drinks were all the same drinks as the All Inclusive deal. We thought that it was such a nice gesture by the hotel and being a 4*+ hotel thought it was also a nice touch to welcome their guests.

When we checked out we were told we had a bill of £19 for the contents of the Mini Bar! Two other English family's were complaining about the same thing as they also were not told that the contents would be charged for.

Personnaly I think this was very bad and as an All Inclusive guest been charged for drinks that are in the All Inclusive deal was discusting and think this should be refunded as NO-ONE informed us of this bill.

The Hotel situated on a very hilly site and we got some good excerise! BUT if you use the lifts and walk through the hotel you DO NOT have to walk up and down the Hills!!

The entertainment is very poor but! catch the mini bus outside the hotel that comes every 5 minutes and cost 50p, it will take you straight into Bodrum town centre that has many clubs resturants and shops.

I feel VERY sorry for thows people who got stomach bugs BUT I personnaly feel that your holiday is what you make it and alot of the contents on this forum is scare mungering ********!

I enjoyed my holiday because I went to enjoy myself meet people and talk to all the varing nationalities, buy cheep clothes dine at various restarants and chill out.

STEPH

I object to your comments:

"I feel VERY sorry for thows people who got stomach bugs BUT I personnaly feel that your holiday is what you make it and alot of the contents on this forum is scare mungering *********!"

I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT YOU HAVE OFFENDED MANY PEOPLE ON THIS WEBSITE WHO STAYED AT THIS HOTEL AND CONTRACTED SALMONELLA AND CRYPTOSPORIDIUM. THINK YOURSELF LUCKY THAT YOU ESCAPED WITHOUT GETTING INFECTED. PEOPLE WOULD HAVE TO BE VERY SICK IN THE HEAD TO TRY TO SCAREMONGER PEOPLE BY SAYING THEY HAD NOTIFIABLE DISEASES WHEN THEY DIDN'T. I THINK YOU OWE A FEW PEOPLE AN APOLOGY.

You have oviuously taken me the wrong way!!

As I said 'I feel very sorry for those who got infected with stomach bugs".

But those people who are nit picking at things like - THE HILLS, TATTY TOWELS, ROOMS NOT BEING CLEAN EXT....... Personnaly I think they are adding petty detail and scar mungering.

Hope this clears things up and if I had got sick believe me I would be joining you all with complaints, as I postsed details from this forum to TVTravel shop & TC Complaints department and ensured I got a Letter from both companies confirming that the details on this forum was not true before I continued with my holiday.

Your complaints may have given me a good holiday!

But because I had a good holiday and you didn't, Please don't get bitter. Isn't that WHY YOU ARE complaining or are you just seeking compensation.

This forum is to highlight the good & the bad about Club Belizia so all you complaintees Please stop attacking people when they have something good to write!!

By the way well done for reading every line in the brochure regarding Belizia and spotting the info regarding air conditioning!!

We where told that the animation team has totally changed by a member of staff.

The team were not all that good! Alot of people go to the Ampitheatre until 11:00pm after that there were only about 20 people (Mostly Belgium) dancing to music. My son of 17 went down every night around mid-night just incase anything exciting happened but it never did.

As I said catch the bus to BODRUM we spent alot of time at the 'Red Lion' night club that showed the football on a massive screen my son & husband enjoyed this while I danced to the music.

The Red Lion is good for football if you don't mind NO COMMENTRY & LOUD music instead!! otherwise go to Breeze down the road who also has a big screen and lets you listen to the commentry.

By the way you can go to the 'First stop' restarant next door to the Red Lion & order your food and eat it in the Red Lion on very comfortable sofa chairs while watching football.

I only wish that all those other people who were following this forum, and have gone and returned from the Club Belizia whould also put their comments whether GOOD or BAD!!

It make's me sick that people are always up for complaining but never seem to talk about the positive things :o)

Hi All

Just to keep you updated I have now been offered half of the cost of my family holiday back after I refused my first offer from Thomas Cook.

Has anyone else had any success in settling their complaints to Tour Operators?

hi bobby

Im sure you are aware that the staff, very surprising to us at the time, are all russian. If you can relate to this then you are fine but as they quite clearly expressed on many an evening and to many English guests they do not like the English, and that was expressed in a very nasty way, especially to English women just asking politely for a drink.
