If you are going it alone or with a few friends, or indeed a family, you manage to get a cheap flight but then when it comes to accomodation, it can sometimes cost the earth! I rently went to Poland and stayed in a very good hostel for a fraction of the price of a hotel. Hostels have changed. Many offer private rooms with ensuite accomodation. I had a private single room with ensuite and breakfast for £20 a night. If I was prepared to share a room with a stranger then prices would have started from about £10. The difference with hostels against hotels is that the rooms are simply furnished and no TV, mini bar and free toiletries. I booked my room through http://www.travel.clickshop.biz/hostels.html
