Hi , does anyone else have a nutty black lab x border collie , (or so we were told ) my mum and dad went all the way to sunbury on thames for him , in a blizzard last march , after making at least three phone calls to the "breeder" only to be told a story as to why no mum was present . they know they should have walked , but being lifelong dog owners and lovers ,and an hours drive in the snow , they quessed he would stand a better chance with us ( he was in good condition , otherwise they would have walked and done something about it , ) the only thing was they were told he was 8 weeks old , they didnt say anything but quessed only six , but after observing him he may have been even younger , BUT , he has turned out to be a fabulous dog ,with a true Labrador temp , but the energy and bounceabillity of a border , just wondered if anyone poss knows of the whearabouts of any of his brothers and sisters as we would love to see how they turned out , he looks like a very big but long black lab , who could out bounce tigger . ( the only signs of being taken away too young is that he was hard work to stop nipping ,) we know that should have been a lesson started by his mum and siblings , but he does understand no biting and not hard now , and stops instantly if he gets too excited and forgets himself . ( he came into a home with an old retriever (dog) who sadly passed away aged over 16 this feb , and an at the time 6 yr old bitzer ( dog ) so he had lots of company and cuddled up to the old man as he would his mum , a big old softie who loved the pup as much as the pup loved him , now the two boys box and spar , all day long and are great mates .

I'm sorry to hear bout your dog's problems. My dog is a staffie x lab and he has lots of energy too. He has the labrador dopeness but he has the staffie dislike of other dogs. That is due to his previous owners not socialising him properly as a pup.
