Estate 60K and running like a dream. However, the tacho sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. No obvious contact symptoms - flickering or affected by vehicle movement. What checks can I do to trace the fault? Appreciate any advice. Don

by tacho you mean rev counter?

I don't know abou your make of car but it's likely connected to the ignition coil somehow. Connections okay here?

I doubt it very much, it's a diesel. The tacho is triggered a device on the fuel pump, look for loose wires around here.

Th tacho is actually driven by a hall-effect sensor next to the flywheel of the car. On my 306 it is visible from underneath of the car, next to fly wheel.

i have the same problem, i´ve added a rev counter from 405 SRDT to mi 405 GLD, but, don´t work. the wire packets are the same, and the hall sensor exist, but don´t work. do anybody know how to ckeck the sensor, or electric diagram?. do anybody have a electric diagram from 405 diesel?
