Any thing you need to know about Fiats or if you need wiring diagrames or any kind of help just let me know.
Worked for fiat for about 9 years and still trying to work them out.
Can let you know of any latest service news or recalls.

The fiat man !!! hope ya dont get rusty like the fiats LOL !!
Only kiddin, nice to see oneone come on giving out some info.
Actually now ya mention it I've got a friend with a 5 cylinder marea that wont rev but starts fine, I havent personally had a look yet but planning to next week was told it was fly by wire.
I'm on the tools but aint near fiats much, particularly this model so my knowledge is minimal of these cars.
At the moment I'm thinking either throttle housing assembly or pedal sensor(assuming it's got one).
But any info would be helpful.
Cheers.

I'mgoing to look into the in-car module for MK2 next year, so will be looking for some thoughts and experiences and diagrams in the future. Nice to know someone who's in the know.

Hi mazza Thanks for the reply The car is around a 2000 x plate I think it was, However I've had a very quick peak at this car and have found the head gasket is blown, this engine looks like a real beauty to work on down the timing belt side !!! LOL so before I even get to the stage of the throttle problem I gonna have to fix this, If this had been the 4 pot model I'd have quickly done it this weekend but this one looks like the engine may need dropped or lifted a bit to gain access (Nasty looking job !)
By the way It's definitely fly by wire and the management light is on after a quick look at the dash.
Funny how it starts no problem even with the gasket blown but there ya go.
He said to me that the previous owner had some sort of problem with it losing the throttle when he had it but the fault went away (Bad connection somewhere possibly ?) he's only had the car since summer so only about 5-6 months.

Hello Fiat Man.
Appreciate your offer and would wish to ask if you can advise,

On the Panda Selecta of 91 to 95, both 999 and 1108, what would be the autoboxes operating oil pressure for each and how, or at what point in the system, should it be measured?

Thank you. Pete. [Log in to view email]

Hi, is it possible that you can help. My fiat Punto 55 has just developed a problem very much like a bad miss fire. I have changed the plugs but it is still as bad, it seems like it is only running on 2 or 3 cylinders. It is a 98 and has been pretty good up to now, I am wondering if it could be the fuel injector? If it is is it a hard job or an expensive one.
Thank you,
Rab

Hiya Fiatman and its great that you are on here to help.
Stilo 1.2 3 door 16valve, any Service updates or recalls? Anything I should worry about doing a 25k Service myself?
Also... shock... the Airbag warning keeps failing... 6 or 7 attempts by supplying dealer to fix it. It goes away but comes back. Can it be permanently fixed?

Cheers bud.

Keith

if you can change the plugs yourself then here is a little tip to try.Take the plugs out again and see if any are wet.Once the plugs are out stick them in the end of the leads and lay them on top of the rocker cover and crank the engine and you should see them spark in the gap on the plug, any that dont spark you will know abit more where the fault is.

Nice to see some probs with the newer cars and not just punto. For service news and recall's i will need full chassis number ie ZFA---------- full number please. At the mo they are recalling front suspension springs which you fit a new clamp to stop the spring from going through your front tyre if it snapped. The air bag prob has been going on for some time, depending on if it is a 3 door or 5 dooor.Normally it is the wiring under the seat if it is a 3 door coz the loom gets streatched. Also if you have a mat inside the passenger seat O,S,C mat as we call it has probs aswell but you would need to have it plugged in on a fiat machine.IF you do and let me know the error code i can help more

Hi Fiat Man, it is great that you can help here!

My car is Fiat Punto MK1 sporting 1996 (90),engine 1.58 petrol. The car keeps cutting out on the road, and every time it takes 20mins to restart. Starter works fine, but the injection failed light keeps coming out when I turn on the key. Eventually, it scan restart and works fine. The cut out happen once a day or more. When the car works, it’s brilliant, but when the problem comes, it’s horrible. I have another post on the forum, can you please help to give me some suggestions

So many parts have been changed for my poor Punto. My next plan is to send out my ECU and check it again, maybe bypass my immobiliser because there was an error code about it, though I thought the immobiliser is fine, just want to disable it to prevent it’s threat, and if I keep having the problem then I can check some parts else. Thanks for your help, cheers! Joe

i have changed the battery everything fine but when it started getting cold it started it again.I can tell when it isnt going to start because the rev counter dosnt move but the car just grunts and grunts and that smoke pours out of the exhaust and chokes me and everyone in a 10 mile radius, then all of a sudden the rev picks and it chugs along allright.
