Hi,
I was wondering if you could possibly help me.
I have a W Reg 1.2 Punto and when the car gets warm, the engine keeps cutting out. In order to restart it, I've got to disconnect the battery for a few seconds. It seems that a new ECU has been fitted. I've been told that it could be the crank sensor. Unfortunately I've replaced it and the problem still persists.

If you have the emergency start code (on card or available from Fiat) You could enter this and see if car starts. If car starts then the problem is in the immo codebox area. If the car does not start then the ecu is not running. If you do not have the code then best to assume that the ecu is not running, which can be power supply to ecu or faulty ecu (unlikely). For power supply check fuse and wiring under the shroud on engine bulkhead check wiring connections and fuse and relay connections.

In the Uk they do not give the code card for insurance reasons, you will need to ask Fiat for this, they will need the engine number/reg number becaue should a person before you have lost keys then new keys are supplied and the code changed

the code is entered through the stereo buttons so if you look in your audio manuals it tells you how to do this

Hi Fiat Man
yesterday we noticed all the coolant had disappeared from the reserve tank on my 04 Fiat Stilo, On investigating further we can see the bleed screw is missing from the radiator! The car until now hasn't been overheating but decided to take no chances & haven't used the car since. I've ordered a new bleed screw from the local Fiat dealer - due in Monday. What do I need to do once I've got this when refilling the coolant & do you know how much coolant I'll need?
Many thanks

Hi,
I have a fiat ducato 2.0 JTD 2004 motorhome and the battery indicator light flashes on the dashboard and a beeping noise is heard. This only happens on long drives (over 2 hours). While it was still under warranty this was supposedly fixed by replacing the alternator but has now reappeared. Any ideas?
Cheers Gary
