Have had bath professionally re-enamelled with superb results!! well worth the cost. Company is based in cheshire but travel to all uk mainland destinations. Hope this is of some help to anyone needing their bath lovingly restored.
How much did it cost? Holly
I also live in Oxfordshire and wondered if you had been successful in finding someone to resurface your bath and whether you would recommend them and could supply their details etc? I have read this forum with great interest and thanks to all those who have made contributions, especially Andy, Gary, and supersurfacer. Regards Steve
I am in Epsom and would be glad to come give you a quote. Drop me an email to surfacedoctor.epsom@ntlworld and I will give you a call back.. Supersurfacer, could you give me your email as I want to know more about the reglazing thingy. Cheers
my email is [Log in to view email] (though for some reason this forum seems to suppress it so maybe I'd better give it as bathandbasin at the not cold kind of email dot com!!)
Just reading my last post and I noticed I missed something off my email addie. It is [Log in to view email] com There is no space between the . and com. Thanks, Gary

Don't fight now Chillins' time is short!! Mark you can contact us on our website http://www.tubbyuk.com wherein you will find the things you want to know about. Alternatively, you can have your bath resurfaced professionally by ourselves or any one of the others on this forum if you are in their area of operations. If you don't like us lot, then have a gander in your local Y/P's Jen (yen) you be good now. Cheers
I've now had the bath done by SuperSurfacer (see his post of 5 Sept for a description of what's involved) and it looks very good. Before treatment the bottom was badly stained with brown and yellow marks, and it was rough to the touch. It was impossible to clean and there was a copper stain under the taps. It now looks as good as new and I'm very pleased with it. The process didn't involve any kind of paint-on or spray-on layer, but a renovation of the surface. Obviously I don't know yet how well it will last, as it's only just been done, but I'm told that it should be good for ten years anyway. My reason for looking for another method of renovation was that I've had a disappointing experience of a spray-on surface, which began flaking at the edges rather soon after being done. SuperSurfacer is based in central Scotland so may not be useful to you but as I found the info on this forum and am very pleased with the result, thought it might be useful to record that. He wld be able to say where he operates if you got in touch, don't want to second guess it myself.
I have read all the gen on DIY versus professionals. I bought a roll top bath that has not been installed yet. It is not as heavy as I expected, so don't think it is cast iron. Anyway, it has been sitting outside for a couple of years and the drain hole was blocked with leaves etc hence pine needles have sat in water and removed the enamel down the middle, it looks like scratches through to a yellow colour (original surface is white). This bath is meant to be going in a newly converted holiday let so I don't know what treatment it will get. What are my options and how much is it going to cost me? either re-enamel or resurface. It is not in place yet so can be taken away or restored on site.
