Hi sorry to ask what may appear as a silly question but has anyone ever powdercoated a cast iron bath?I had my motorcycle wheels done recently and the finish is superb.

has anyone had success with using bath enammeling kit and where where can I buy a kit near bedfordshire,or do you know where I can get some one to do the work for me at a reasonable price.thanks

Hi,Not sure if you are still on this long debate, but just picked up a cast iron roll top bath off the street, amazing the things other people throw out! Anyway, it has rust stains around the plug hole and down one side where the tap water has corroded the enamel away. Can you simply fix that bit of the enamel or do you need to resurface the whole thing? Thanks

Hi Su-YenI would say that unless the rest of the bath is in good condition a repair may not blend in very well and not last too long either. Your options are to have it re-surfaced with a paint material or properly enamelled with vitreous enamel. Visiit http://www.uniqueenamellingservicesltd.co.uk

i would not attempt a DIY refinish, get a pro in and get it done properly, there is more to it than you think!

it all depends on who does it, it it is done by a true professional and he/she follows the correct and full preporation process you will get a quality finish that will last. nothing is as good as removal srip and actual re enamel at a factory, but this will require the bath to be removed from your home wich will be time consumming and costly, get it refinished by a pro i am sure you will be happy.

honestly, well it depends on the area location, london area you would expect to pay more i charge between 300 - 400 depending on the spec interior and exterior re finishing from a very poor state 400 interior and exterior in reasonable order 350 - 380 interior only poor state 350 - 380 interior only in reasonable order 300 the main point is to get a real pro, ive been in this trade since i was 18 - im now 41, i am a time served city and giulds finisher, i use the full process using best materials and equipment.

there are many cowboys out there, but belive me you need to try to find a pro to do the job for you, its not as easy as you think to get a excellent result, incidentally i charge around 300 and i belive my customers get true value and quality workmanship.

depends how good the opporator is, nothing wrong with re finishing in situ if the work is completed correctly
