Harry , If you go on Yell.com and search for bath resurfacing in Your area ,you should have a good choice .
Try to get the best warranty you can and dont let price be your
no 1 priority .
If its too cheap ,there is a reason .
Good luck

Hiya - im using a Mr Tubbys kit to do my bath (cast-iron) but am having problems getting the shine off a glazed pedistel and sink that goes with it - any one any tips as after 3 hours with wet and dry i have a patch the size of my hand to show for my efforts. Will a grinder work or is that a bit on the severe side?

Hello Alan,
Please let us have your contact details or mail us on our website and we can advise. It will take you forever to hand sand a porcelain surface. I presume your use of the phrase Mr tubby kit indicates that you purchased another version of the resurfacing kit from another internet site. Otherwise ordinarily you would be getting a free telephone advice service.
Cheers for now
Tubbyuk

I have a french cast iron bath, the enamel is in ok condition though the plug hole has developed rust around it. Do you see this as a high risk and is it therefore not worth repairing. How much would a repair or vitreous re-enamel cost.

Hi Bella,

Rust around the plughole is the rule rather than the exception for old baths- so yes its definitely worth resurfacing. The rust must be removed and during the resurfacing special attention given to that area to inhibit rust breaking through the new coating. This can consist of rusr-proofing followed by filling with polyester , epoxy or similar filler.
Expect to pay between 150 and 250 pounds depending on guarantee given, condition of bath etc.
Insist on 5 year guarantee minimum (in writing!)

Hi again,
The price of £150 - £250 is this for the whole bath to be re-enamelled or just the plug? Also do you know how much for cold curing enamelling and where either can be done? I live in South London
Thanks Bella

Hi Bella,
The whole bath....getting just the drain done for that would be a bit steep!!
Actually there's no such thing as 'cold curing enamelling' .. your bath would be resurfaced with an acrylic or epoxy or possibly polyurethane coating which is sprayed on in-situ. The alternative is to send away the bath for re-enamelling, in which case the cost would be probably in excess of 600 pounds+ plus costs of removal and re-installation.
I'm located in teh north , but I'd recommend you contact bathfix.co.uk for a quote - they are located south of London.

Hi there,

Can anyone help with the renovating of my old but beautiful dark blue bathroom suite which sadly had a hairline crack in the washand basin. I am on the Bucks/Herts borders.

Cyn.

hi ross sounds like you got shafted twice, they sprayed your bath with air dry acrylic the reason why it was dull is because of cold air tempreture wich cause's blushing.(two part urathane's blush too)Then they have the nerve to say that your head rubbed thru the surface ,wich by the way is probably only 2 coats of 40% thinners with no base coat and no etching, and charge you 35 pounds to fix it is bloody disgraceful.everyone should take heed of what happened to ross its people like renu bath that give proffesional resurfacer's with a PROVEN product a bad name .

Hi Supersurfacer

I've tried to contact you via your email address but my server doesn't like your server.

Basically, I live near to the Isle of Skye and wondered if you came out this far? I've got a cast iron bath that has been outside for 20 years doubling as a pond, and would like to use it in my soon to be built bathroom.

I don't think that it's in too bad a condition, considering. But what do I know? I need HELP!!!

Hope that you can help me.

Hi Ozmoz,
you can call me on 0800 781 0937 to discuss.
You are a fair bit away from me - but I always try to help if possible.

If there was someone else besides yourself who wanted work done up there then maybe we could come up with a cost effective plan to cover travel expense and time??

Anyway, pls call to discuss
Thanks

Thanks for the nice message. All I can say is that I don't know you and you do not have a vested interest in Thermoglaze but I like the way you think.

steve hopefully most of your prospective clients will think the same way. lets just say you will be resurfacing baths long after all the quick buck cowboys are disconnecting thier phones and running from sherrifs, someone has to fix all those yellow, peeling, dull baths out there and in 30yrs thermoglaze will be the one people call (word of mouth is a very powerful advertisment) all the best...hydro
