captainpk, I would be very interested in getting your opinion on bath resurfacing in Devon; I will be getting this done at some point, but have a small woodworm problem to sort first!

Supersurfacer ....Strange comments, if you are referring to bath medic , we ONLY offer a five year warranty .. no less . and never have offered less , so im interested in your " vastly superior materiels " comment .
You are in Scotland so how do you know what we use or our workmanship ??
Psychic. ?

Sorry to butt in on this dicussion but does anyone know where i can purchase some chemical etch, and white 2 pack enamel? I used to work for a bath resurfacing company so I know what I am doing with them as I used them on a daily basis. I have not worked in the industry for 5 years now but the 'in-laws' bath needs resurfacing and I said I would do it. I have all the PPE, HVLP spray gun and extractors and experience........ I just need the products. Hoping someone can help. Cheers

Oops I forgot to say I live in the Huddersfield area so somewhere local would be nice but if not anywhere will do.

Hi
I just wanted to update people who were kind enough to offer advice regarding my cast iron bath a while back ( I posted pics of it). In the end we decided to get rid of it - the feet were rusty as was the underneath, and the old globe taps were limescaled up and we couldn't get them off the bath to clean them up. We got a new stainless steel one instead. Not very green I know, but it was bigger and we were able to replace the lead pipes without too much hassle. Didn't get any money for the bath. The best we could do was find someone who would pick it up for us free of charge. Thanks to all those who replie to my thread.

Dear Andy
Not sure where you are but I am having my cast iron bath resurfaced by renubath, a Barnes based company. I have booked for 9 July but if you are London based would you give me a quote. I am in Streatham Hill.

Hello All
I have read various messages on this site re re-enamelling. I have a bath which badly needs doing, but I cannot remove it from where it is positioned. Do you know of anyone who comes to the house to do it and will it be done properly.

Hi rose, Things to look out for when having your bath re surfaced is what product they are using and the warranty they give .You should read the forum from the beginning that way you will see what company has a good reputation ,this site is a very true site and you will get honest advice. scott

I couldn't agree more. look out for those that give a 5 year guarantee as standard. Some give 1 or 2 years and will charge more the longer the guarantee.

I wish i'd seen this site before. I just had my old bath resurfaced and wished I hadn't bothered it has got loads of what I've been told are pinholes and scratchy lumps of enamel on the surface. But apparantly the operative says it's my bath's fault and not his. If anyone wants to know who did it please e mail me, if I can help stop someone else wasting their money I will.

Pin holes can be a problem and are already in the original surface. As for the lumps these are not the baths fault and a good resurfacer would know how to get rid of them and would certainly not blame you.

I live in Dudley but the firm is a Yorkshire one. As for the "pin holes", they are bodkin sized and not pin sized. One way or another the job is a mess.

Can you email me name [Log in to view email] The reason I ask is that I do pass on enquiries that are out of my area to other companies/individuals as I do not travel 100's miles. Ian

Hi fellow resurfacers, can anyone who uses/used the ISO free product from Lab have any comments on the product.
I have spoken to 2 resurfacers that have been using the product for some time and have given me very good feedback.
I would appreciate other feedback regarding this product if possible. Thank in advance.

yes actually- i know a resurfacer in eastbourne who used it and had to go back a month later and strip them back again - it had started to peel. I used the stuff once and the finish was dire - though maybe i could have played around with thinners and tip sizes to improve it. My biggest concern with iso free is that its fiddly using wipe on adhesion promoters and iso free does not stick well to the surface. Avoid!

Hi
I used the product for 5 years and became very unhappy with it. The adhesion was suspect and i was not comfortable as i would not know how long the surface would last. What area of the country do you cover.
