Hi Mark, thanks so much for your reply, the manual states 1991 specifications so that sounds right. Thanks very much again.

Dear Mark, I'm planning to buy a used Herald holiday home for my family. In order to site it, I need a permission from local authorities that require specifiation/technical documentation. Unfortunately, there is no information available for that particular Herald model on Web site - Willerby Herald 35x12 ft., 2 bedrooms. Serial Nr.1194/6 I need a detailed planning - both inside and outside, so I wonder if you have it and can make it available for me. I believe they are necessary because I found no other home on the Web having a back door as this model. Hope to hear from you soon, Ingus.

Hi Mark, its Kate again. Thanks for confirming the age of our Eldiss Wisp. Would you know if there is any way we can get a handbook or any other information for it ? We are taking it to the Lake District on the 20th and some info would be very helpful.

Hi, I'm looking to buy the Adria Forma 580C, and I've seen models from 1989 to 1996, and they all look identical. I've just sold my Burstner and that was dead easy, because I bought it new. Now I want an older twin axle to take to France, but how do I check that the age the seller says it is, is actually the real age of the caravan, and the seller hasn't given the age a face lift of 2 or 3 years, thereby enhancing the price as well? Will the info on the 'A' frame tell me the year, if I can get to see the info under the drawbar cover? Cheers, Ian

Hi Ian if it is an "English" spec Adria it will have a CRIS number on the windows from 1992 otherwise you should find a number staped into the A frame at the front of the caravan which will normally reveal its age. Yes you are right most sellers "glorify" the age! Regards, Mark

Hi Mark, will all Adria's after 1992 have CRIS or is it on the customer to pay for it and not everyone will spend the extra couple of quid? Thanks for your advice by the way. From this forum you seem to be a mine of information caravan related. Cheers, Ian

Thanks Ian. The caravans will have a C.R.I.S. Vin. Number on the windows and chassis. The theory is each "new" owner/keeper informs CRIS when they have purchased a caravan so that the database can be updated. You have the choice to pay for a security check which tells you if the caravan has been stolen, suffered total loss or is on finance - you really need the current registered keepers details to verify this information. CRIS can then have your details as being the registered keeper and at that point you have the option to pay for a log book/ registration document - originally this was free and part of the service but now it is chargeable so not everybody does it. However it is always peace of mind to have a document in your hand showing you as the rightful owner. Cheers, Mark

Hi Mark, I've just had a mail from the seller and he tells me the number is 90adc15139. According to stuff I've read and seen it looks like this is a 1990 model and not a '96 as he advertises. He paid £4.5k for it last year, so I think he was well and truly seen coming. Cheers, Ian.

Yes Ian you are a pain trawling through all these caravan ads from people who know nothing about them and what they dont know they just guess , when i'm sitting in front of a yardful of caravans on a sunny morning LOL. !993 Forma 610C 5 berth £9825 when new, Int. length 18'4", overall 23'10", width 7'5", unladen weight 1194kg, max 1423kg. Its a real boxy shaped caravan with a U shaped dining area at the back and 2 long singles at the front (one makes a single dinette during the day if i remember correctly?) Mark
