Hi Mark can you help me please..... Got a Monza 1200/5 (or s) We think its about 1980ish any ideas?

Hi suzy. If it has the old "glass" windows it will be 70's and i have a record of the serial numbers if you have yours available it should be on the A frame cover. If it has plastic windows and has a maroon stripe on stippled aluminium it is a 1980. If it has orange/ brown stripes and a "rusty" chassis with B&B towhitch it is a 1981. If it has the modern galvanised chassis with an Alko hitch then it is a 1982. They didnt do this model after that. Hope this helps. regards, Mark http://www.callendercaravans.co.uk

Thats great... I'd put 1980 on the insurance form with both sets of fingers, toes and eyes crossed! The maroon stripe clinched it! Ok....... NOW............ any idea of it's weight? lol

Hi suzy. Yes it was 640kg unladen but remember it was a very basic caravan to start with so if it now has a fridge, heater, oven etc. you will have to add this to it! Hi Gary sorry it was my day off! My info says it is the 3rd and 4th digits which is 1981 after the 132 model name. ALine changed to Dean Line (Mr. Dean being the new owner)in mid 1981 so this would be correct. regards, Mark

We have just bought a adria caravan, and we would love to find out more about it....or if someone has a handbook they could copy for us....the vin number is 4053tee5000899..it's 14foot...and has blue/grey tinted windows

Hi Adria serial numbers dont mean anything to me. You need to contact the importers in Derby. Tel 0115 944 7477. By the way they have had blue windows since the mid 70's so that doesnt help either! Please can you help? We have acquired an ABI Award 14/4 & being new to caravanning we haven't a clue of the age / Chassis number. Please can you point us in the right direction. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi the Award 14/4 was made between 1978 and 1981. They were top of the range at the time and all had double glazed plastic windows - even in 78! You should find the A.B.I. serial plate on the A frame cover at the front nearside. alternately the B&B chassis number will be on the nearside chassis rail. I can confirm the year with either of these numbers. regards, Mark

Thanks Mark, we will go and have a look tonight and let you know. As said before we are new to caravaning and any help advice you could give us would be much appreciated. When the age of the caravan is known do you know of anywhere we would be able to get a manual or any other info from which would be helpful to us. Thanks again, Donna

Hi Mark, Could only find a plate the said "B & B Trailers Ltd, Leamington Spa, 336463" Hope this is one of the numbers you refer to and that you will be able to date the van for us. Also again as we are complete novices at caravaning do you know if it would be possible to get a copy of the instruction/info manual for this van as i am sure this would be very helpful to us. If need be we would be able to collect this from your bussiness address as we only live in Preston. Thanks in advance, Donna

Hi Donna your caravan has a 1981 chassis so it is one of the later ones! I have a sales brochure and a handbook which i can copy. I can photocopy these for £5 if you like? Mark

Hello, We have just brought a ABI tristar Award think it's a 1990 We know it is a 4 birth, the problem we have is that we caln't seem to locate the serial number and we want to join a caravan club and it ask's for the caravan serial number, I have looked in the two most expected places...ie the bottom side of the door, and the A frame but nothing there, so can anyone help me with this problem. The only one i can see has been stamped on the A frame in ink, it reads 0290755

Just found a vin number on the near side chassie rail. it is 90AB276450 On a ABI Tristar. :)
