Hi Vectra. Yes you are right to think it is older. The first "digit" number "1" should be the letters "M or MK" ? (Assuming that it is then M4 and not MK1) In which case you have a 1991 model which will have pink carpet/curtains and very light coloured woodwork. Let me know the full number. Regards, Mark

Hi there matey is there an easy way to find out how old a Sprite 400 caravan might be? I bought one yesterday and the fella thought it was 1962 for some reason. Not had a good look round it yet for any plates, etc, if they were even fitted with any? Cheers Stratts

Vectra the number was on a plate by the door which didnt always include the 1st part! The full number should be stamped into the chassis on the nearside of the A Frame. Sometimes this means removing the fairing. Cheers, Mark

Stratts, the original Sprite 400 ran from 1960 to 1976. the early ones had a B&B chassis. The chassis number was on a plate on the nearside slightly under the front of the caravan. obviously at that age they have often deteriorated or just painted over 53 times! See if you can find it and let me know. They didnt really have distinguishing features then other than being cream or green with orange flowery upholstery! Cheers, Mark

Thanks Mark I'll look later. It's a light green but the interior must have been changed as it has no flowers. Although it is still very 60's/70's looking orangey in colour like a rough velour type fabric!! Stratts

You are the lucky one! I've had people with vans that are 8 years OLDER than the seller described, but to get a van that is newer, never mind by 8 years newer, must be a record!! Ha ha

Hi Anth. You have a 1986 Monza 4.50.S which will have a settee single bed down the rear side you show on the photo. This will have a bunk above and also pull out to make a double bed to toatal 5 berths with the double at the front.Although the van had blue trim when new someone has gone mad with a tin of blue paint and painted the stripes on the outside! The telltale sign is the blue "Monza" logo on the roof. In 1987 the van had red trim. The carpet should also be blue with blue/grey striped upholstery. The VIN plate would have been by the door but has probably been removed o0r painted over? 14'10" internal length, 18'3" overall,640kg ex.works, 900kg maximum. Cheers, Mark

Hi by your chassis number your caravan is a 1993 model as the 10th digit being a "p" in the chassis number confirms this. Its very unusual not to have the c,r,i,s, numbers in any windows, please inspect all windows at the bottom right hand corners for any evidence of where they could have been. One phone call to c.r.i.s (they are same as hpi for cars) google search their number quote the chassis number and pay £14.95 and they will tell you if its stolen etc and also provide info on how many previous keepers and exact day and date of registration hope this helps

Hi Linda your Super Musketeer with the mustard stripe will be 1981 or 1982, although this stripe was along the bottom not the top?? The 82 had a radio console, battery condition meter and clock fitted. regards, Mark
