hi the waxwing by avondale as far as i know is from 1979 to 1983 if you look above the door inside there should be a reg plate the year should be on that cheers from jock

Jock it is never a good idea to "guess" what year something might be and "as far as I know" pretty much describes why so many people are sold the wrong age of caravan in the first place ~ hence this thread! You are correct saying that the serial number is on a plate above the door, but the Waxwings were in fact made between 1981 and 1987. In the earlier years the Kingfisher had the same layout and then swapped places with the Sandpiper. PS I did'nt see anybody ask about a Waxwing recently?

Hi Mark, I posted a reply to stratts on another part of this site then came across the "Do you kno...." string. I had seen your name in another site regarding caravan dating and now seeing your replies on this one I am impressed. I had correctly worked out that my Sprite 400 is a 71 model but I still wanted to contact you to say that I admire the effort you put in to help out us peasants, you are certainly kept busy. A round of applause I think. What about it folks?

hi, I have just become the proud owner of a very original 2 berth Elddis caravan. I have found the number 11072E just below the door. Just wondered what year and model this is. Hope you can help, many thanks Shaun

Hi Shaun if your Elddis is "very original" it will have the model name written on it?
Is it 11-12' long with green plastic windows, 2 berth with an end kitchen?

Billy, I don't do statics but can tell you that the Capri 10' wide was made from 1973 to 1985. The 12' wide models were made 1996- 2001. From your number I presume you have a 12' wide model? Cosalt have recently been involved in a buy out and have changed the name.

Hi,Can anyone help us, we have an ABI Jubilee Pioneer and are trying to find out the age of the caravan. (Believed to be approx 1990) The serial is 318883 which is listed on some of the literature which came with the caravan. Can anyone also tell us where the serial plate should be. We have tried on the front A frame but this has a plastic cover and nothing is visible. There is a plate by the door but this is blank. Does a caravan this old have a serial plate? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mark,
Please can you help i need to know how old my caravan is it's a CI Sprite Muskateer Cassis no. F80/1171 with an address on the back of the caravan saying CI Caravan Ltd, Fordham Road, Newmarket. Any help really appreciated
as I need to know if it's too old to put on a site near me.Thanks

Hi Mark, I have a Monza 4.30s deluxe and wondered what the year was. The chassis number is 165806M.Also, do you know where I can buy spares for it? Amongst other things, we need a new bathroom sink, fridge and various clips for windows and holding the door back? Thanks, Sean

Hi there. having been new to caravaning (thourghly enjoying it) have bought a Atlas Florida static caravan (35x10 3bed) sold as a 1999 but I think it is a 2001/2002 model the serial number is AT000985B1 is there any way this can be verified ? Many thanks.
