Hi mark,
We have just bought our first caravan it's a very tidy looking Cosalt Clubman
Should do us as an intro to caravaning,the plate below the door shows the number 84434212
know anything about these vans?

Hi. The Cosalt Clubman range was produced between 1979 and 1984.From the serial no. you give yours will be a 1984 model and should be a "GXL". Has it got a full width gas locker? They were made by the more commonly known Abbey Group which is now under the umbrella of "Sterling". In 1984 they also did a Clubman "Special" which had a shower and hot water system which cost £350 extra. The models ranged from a £4000 212 (12' 2 Berth) through to a £5400 617 Twin axle (17' 6 Berth) The numbers denoting the size and no. of berths. Hi Mark. My husband bought me a beautiful Mustang Goodwood for christmas it is my pride and joy. Could you give me any information on it. It is a 1978 model we have a handbook but I would love to get hold of an original sales brochure. The previous owner had it for ten years and it`s almost in mint condition. My husband paid £295 for it is this a fair valuation. Are there many Goodwoods around. I would also like to know where I can get a two ring hob for my van as it could do with replacing any idea of the cost of this item.

thanks for the reply marki am very impressed on your knowledge its nice to know some one out there cares about the older caravans.
do you have any info or oweners manuels i did not get any thing at all when i bought the van i paid £1695 for it do you think this is a fair price

Hi terry thanx for your comments. Assuming the van is an 84 and relatively free of damp and things work you have done ok. if it has hot water then the Cascade mk1 water heater will be your biggest problem. They were flued under the floor so the workings were open to the road - this tended to rust them up and commonly give problems-they are expensive to replace! i do have a handbook from 1983 and can photocopy it for £5 reagrds, Mark http://www.callendercaravans.co.uk

thanks for the reply you have put my mind at rest.
i have now picked up the van bought from dysons preston they did a full p.d.i. and a exellent job to they tested every thing the water heater works fine and the blown air as well.
i do have one prob the rear panel is very bad i think that was refected in the price it will do till winter but i did get them to give me a qoute to be held for six months for complete repair of the full back panel at £500.
i am comeing up to the lakesin the next few weeks is it ok if i call in for the oweners handbook.

Hi
I have just been given an old sprite musketeer CI. it was a 5 berth with a double bed at the front and a double bed at the back with a bunk over the top. As you enter through the door the washroom is on the right. I have a coy of a plan of a 1973 sprite but the plan is different to mine. i have had a look for the serial number but have had no luck finding this. It has a foot pump and and electric pump, with a gas hob and grill plus a sink with tap. The windows are glass. any help with finding the age of this van would be a gr8 helpshelley

What colour is the Sprite outside? Does the door handle slide to the side or do you lift a flap to open it? Have the toilet and wardrobe got white square handles you lift to open? Has it got a red "CI" badge on the outside? Believe it or not these are the clues which will narrow it down. Regards, Mark http://www.callendercaravans.co.uk P.S. hi thanx for the help
The sprite outside is white at the top and bottom with cream thru the centre. the CI badge is black, and is placed by the entrance to caravan under the plate where it tells u the weight. The door handle of the wardrobe is white which u lift up, and the washroom has no handle only a slider that locks it shut. Hope this helpsshelley
