Hi. If this number is B&B (notpb) it denotes a 1972 chassis so it would confirm our thought of 71 ish OK

Hi. I've just beaten my record by 2 years for a caravan being older than the customer thought. the customer traded it in on the basis he was sold it as a 1987 and when it arrived it was quite clearly a 1980. Why do people keep getting conned into this? Even more costly for those concerned was one of our storage customers has just come back with a van they were told by the "nice couple" was a 1995 "bargain" turns out to be a 1992 which for insurance purposes is worth £1600 less. Needless to say they are not happy and have gone back to the previous owners. I wonder what they will say!!!! Regards, Mark Lewis, Callender Caravans, Carnforth http://www.callendercaravans.co.uk

Hi Mark. I am still happy with my Mustang Pony, and we have had many a happy holiday in it. made a few changes to make it personal, but it does make things easier. The only query I have is how the heck do you get the wheels off. If anyone had a laugh it was the whole neighbourhood, watching 6 men,& 3 women trying to work out how to achieve this task. (the males were doing the manual work, the females were doing the laughing) I asked at our local caravan centre, but the only advice was to let the tyre down. we had already done this but it was a long job. If ever we had a puncture on the motorway, It would be a nightmare. how would you do it mark.

Hi we used to sell Compass caravans in those days. The Commodore Rallye 460 was made in 81 and 82 then changed to the 480. They also made the Commodore Rallye SE which had hot water and shower fitted. Regards, Mark http://www.callendercaravans.co.uk

Hi again Jane if you want some copies of the sales brochure just drop me a line with an SAE. Thanks. P.S. the distinguishing feature of the 82 model was its white "rostyle" wheels which were prone to going rusty the earlier model had plastic wheel trims http://www.callendercaravans.co.uk

Hi. Your monza was manufactured By A.B.I. Caravans in Hull. It is a 1976 vintage. It cost £954 when new, will have plain glass windows, has an internal length of 12'9" and weighed just 600kg ex works, however they were very basic at the time and items such as fridge, heater, oven, mains electric etc will have been fitted as extras. Hope this is of assistance. regards, Mark http://www.callendercaravans.co.uk

Hi. Dee. Oh dear you are quite right it isnt a 92 its an 87 model. Avondales were quite simply dated by the first two digits of the serial number (located above the door inside the van) Cushions can be obtained from various sources. I would suggest looking through the caravan magazine classifieds or even through a search engine on your computer. If you need complete cusions it is not cheap as they have to be flame retardent. The cheaper way is just to have loose covers. Good luck, Regards,Mark http://www.callendercaravans.co.uk
