haya i have a fiat punto SX 60 r reg, and it wuz runing well 4 ages. and l8ly it duznt like 2 start, sum times it will and sumtimes it wownt, i changed the plugs on it and that seemd 2 make it ok, but 2day it didnt like starting (but it did 1st time) then wen i stoped 4 bout 30mins it wudnt start at all, so i took of the end lead and put a old spark plug on it and it went then turnd it of and put the lead bak on the engine and it wudnt start and its just so random wether it wonts 2 start or not.. itl be fine 4 a week but then it just duznt want 2 start.
so il try and find sum 'champion spark plugs' i think 2 see if it helps.. but if u have any ideas wot might help i wud rly appreciate it. thanks

I bought a Fiat Punto 60S a couple of months ago (T reg), has been working fine apart from fact have felt that it sometimes strains to start. Last night I parked the car and had it ticking over, all of a sudden the engine died on me. Tried to restart it but not a chance. Was turning over but not catching, any ideas ??

The guy who came to recover it this morning seems to think it could be the crank / timing belt, even though the cam belt hasn't snapped.

Just waiting to hear what the garage say . . . .

hi have you checked the small locating pin is in place on the fanbelt pulley, this has to be in place or it won`t start.

Hi All.

I have a Prunto exl 75 1997 with the following problem, when it comes to starting, the car seems to have a mind of it's own, after running perfectly for some time, the car decides to be a non starter for a while, usually in the supermarket parking area. When the car does decides to start, which usually is in the driveway after being towed back home. On starting clouds of black smoke are emited from the exhaurst, the car coughs a little, but normally after this we're back on track again.. I resently changed the lambda senser as the engine was running erratically, this helped. But when idleling the engine still change revs now and then. There must be a bright engine guy out there, that can help.
Regards Mike from Denmark
