If you had a conway the same thing would have happened, so if you want to caravan dont be put off by your past experience. The first van i bought as a raw 22 yr old was a big willerby from the early 60s or late 50s it was far too heavy for the car and consequently got itself into a snake then came round sideways trying to sideswipe the car, i remembered someone telling me to put my foot down if this happened which i did & eventually straightened the rig out, needless to say i sold it, but i didnt let it put me off, later on i bought my first van proper and have caravanned for over 30 yrs now, only other incident was a tread coming off & wrapping itself round the axle, it was my fault for not changing the tyres at a given age ( 5 to 6 yrs) but they looked alright when i checked them & inflated them & at the time i didnt know about tyre ages. But i still wasnt put off, have another go, believe me theres no comparison between a conway & a caravan. ___________________ N.E.
