i just have a quick question i went and bought a new freelander 2 on a PCP worked out at around £350 a month after deposit but with my extras and stuff i paid a list price of £24000. When i got the log book back from the dvla it stated i was the second owner as landrover had owned the car for about 3 weeks prior to me recieving so in effect have i bought a second hand car?? and if so where do i now stand..i have had to take it back 3 times already due to electrical problems and a whistling turbo any help off you car dealers would be apprieciated!!

If you have bought a new vehicle then there should only be you on the V5 reg document - by the looks of it they have parmed you off with an ex - demo !! How many miles did the vehicle have on it when you picked it up - it should have had no more than 20 miles on it depending if they found any problems at PDI , i would get in contact with the selling dealer and ask some serious quetions - if you are not happy seek legal advice from whoever also try cab .

but had been there a while i found out...it was ordered for someone else who then didnt buy...but i filled in a new car order form...the vehicle had 56 miles on the clock..but that is when it was driven to have window tints put in...which is another sticking point as i paid for privacy glass not tints...as the window got smashed the other day and autoglass only had clear and privacy glass replacements...but i got LR to redo tints for nothing because i kicked up a fuss!! but if they cant rectify this current electrical problem im going to give them the keys and get my money back.....although it is an awesome car...im not paying for a faulty second hand one!!

Right so it appears that the vehicle was new , the only thing that would pee me off was when i came to sell it , effectively you will have 2 previous keepers but inreality only have had 1 , i would look into this and see if you can get the V5 changed . If it was ordered for someone else why is the dealer name on it ? that is still quite puzzling , you would of thought the person who originally ordered it would be on there .
