Daihatsu Problems!! :(

moves just past the C , the engine managment light flickers on, it splutters and if you let the reves die it cuts out. After cutting out it won't re-start for about 10 mins. when cooled a bit it the starts again. The strange thing is that if you run it at high rev's the spluttering passes and once up to the edge of the thermometer she goes like muck off a stick. Can anyone help ? It's driving me barmie.
