Am I to old

I am looking for a new pastime at the moment, being retired and approaching 63 years old, do you think I am to old to start learning to sail. I have been looking at buying a small used yacht 20ft to 30ft, with having no sailing experience, would it be fool hardy. Regards David

As a sailing instructor I would say no you are not too old, but I would strongly advise having some lessons in a similar boat to that which you are thinking of buying, before you buy, so you have a much better idea of whether it is what you want and can handle. Look for a local RYA registered sailing centre, or possibly a sailing centre away from where you live and turn it into a short learning holiday. Regards Alan
