Help please any help appreciated
bought the above car from a main dealer 2 months ago the car has been back in now 5 times it has a clunk there mechanics hear it but havent got a clue what it is.
It appears louder when the wheels are off camber.
the car was bought on a o2 plate 52 reg with 33,000 miles
from picking the car up the following has had to be done
a new radiator
a link
rear wishbones
shock absobers
rear suspension re greased

and still this loud clunking

The deal is un helpful and has offered no solution in finding the problem
wrote to citreon head office who tell us just to go back to nelson where the car was bought.

they have all herad it and the last time we took into stockport branch as it keeps costing me money to take it back to nelson as i have twin baby boys aged 1 i either have to get them minded or take them with me at my expense
as im a single parent to keep going back to nelson is costly I really dont know what i can do it has a 12 month warrenty on it dont know if i can get a check done on this vehicle and charge them.
I have been told but not sure if its correct that you can return the vehicle to the compnay if it has to go in more than 3 times from purchase. please im at my wits end i dont know if the car is safe as i have no idea what the problem is..

rosy i would go and have a word with your local trading standards office
they may take it up with the main dealer who is offering the waranty, if not but they will give you good advice on how to proceed and get it sorted. just dont let the dealer ware you down

there was a problem on these with the outside bolts on the strut tops being to long and catching on the top spring seat when going over bumbs. done a few where the 18mm bolts on the front of the lower arms have needed nipping up also.

if you are thinking about a independant inspection you need to tell the dealer of your intentions first and also let them know if problems are found you expect them to pay for the repairs and the cost of the inspection, if you get an ispection done beforew informing them they would not have to pay for it

well first of all dont give up, contact citroen uk again and let them know that one of their dealers are not competent being that this car has been in their premises a number of times and the fault has not been found and would they consider letting you take it to another main dealer and any faults found should be paid for by the selling dealer. if no luck from them go to you local trading standards office with every thing that has happened written down they should be able to advise you on the best course of action above all do not give up as it seems the dealer is just trying to wear you down they where quick enough to accept your money now its their turn to sort it out whatever

Helllo if you have bought the car from a main citroen dealer you have the right to ask for the car to be completly sorted f o c with the use of there hire car untill they have sorted the problem or they can offer you a exchange on the car to to same speck same price , but put the offer to the dealer see what they come up with after all you have been patient with the garage and like you said you have twin boys who need looking after also the cost in time a fuel
good luck with the car hope you get it sorted .

So will keep you all posted as to the second clunk and what that is this clunk feels like its on the steering but thats only a womens guess
will keep you all posted and to you all many thanks

The nightmare continues latest update
the car has been in twice more taking in the piece of paper with info you sent about the structs. they put on a modification kit and that didnt work so it went in again unfortunately my becki bump there curtosey car which they were no to please about they tell us the car is ready we agree to pay the 250 excess on accident insurance. BUT the car still clunks.we involved trading standards and citizen advice. The upshot is now this cab officer spoke to them they said the following the are NOT PREPARED TO LOOK AT THIS CAR EVER AGAIN. She just has to live with the clunk. CAb say as we cant diagnose the clunking we dont have a leg to stand on in a court case. So I have written today asking them to confirm in writing there comments re not looking at it again and livin wth the clunk and when i recieve that i will send by return the cheque for the 250-00 re bumping the curtesy car.So we are gutted and havent got a clue what else we can do. my daughters concerns are if she up graded and sold the car you would here the clunk but walker farrimond staff all say they cant hear it but trust me i have letters from loads of friends and neighbours that have written a letter stating it can be heard regularly and loudly . walker farrimond say we just have to live with it at the price we paid we are very distressed by all this and just dont know what to do any advice is always appreciated Jan
