Hi, now that poland is part of the e.u. polish models are becoming a good propastion for a project car, my question is how difficult would it be to convert a left hand drive 126p/fsm aircooled car to right hand drive specification?

Are the bodies designed to take rhd components or will there be fabrication involved?

Will the steering rack dash etc need replacing with rhd stuff of can they be modified?

Any info appretiated, Im just thinking realy but a polish car might be a better for a custom a/c project purely because a newer car can be used (hopefully less rust etc to deal with) and parts can be bought for pennies and shipped over relativly cheaply.

Hi
I'm Thomas and I'm Polish.
Sure you can buy Fiat 126 in Poland (man. in 1997-2000 for 400-500pounds)
and import it (300pounds)...and change stering rack + lights+ acc pedal anmd cluth and brake pedal (not very sure if yoiu willbe not moving brake master cylinder bcs is not in centre of the vehicle) ... and dashboard and you need some body cut for speedo + some welding in opposite side
in the end of the story if you havent got enough I tall you that in Poland we have very bad roads and after 60k suspension is finisg (track rod ends , kingpin luz + shockers + rust bcs in winter we have to use salt).
If you want any advice ... buy rubbish like me for 100 pounds and parts for
450 and restore it Yourself (WILL BE MUCH CHEAPER).
Thanks for reading.
Tom
