I heard this about a year ago, infact it was when he had come out of CBB,it will never happen, and yes all staffordshires should be kc reg but theres people breeding all kinds into them to get them to be larger and stocky so not al them are kc reg,i have 4 staffies, and 2 of which are the old bread staffordshires, just reaching 14" to the withers barely, there the kind of staffs your nan would of had!

idont own a staffie but now poeple who do they have a lot of spirit great dogs in the right hands when idiots dont treat them right they can be dangerous like any other dog ,they have a powerful jaw whitch can do more damage than the average dog i would say you would have to wind them up realy bad to get them to bite they also have a very strong pain barrier treat them with respect and i dont think you would have any problems me and other half was only saying the other day when we have room again we will have a staffie

its not the dogs, its the owners, they are like kids, they need rules, every dog owner should watch the dog whispier, sky 3, its so simple when you know how, they were not born bad, just owners who have no clue, i have a staffy and he is my gentle giant marley

kells just read your post there and i agree with you110% about george the idiot galloway as i had a staffie and you couldnt have met a more placid dog in fact before she was stolen id only known her to growl at 1 person which i was amazed at myselfas i took my dog every where with me and the only time i had to put a leash on her was when we were going on a bus and thats why i was so broken hearted when she was stolen and for george the idiot galloway why doesnt he take his head out from up his own arse and look athe real world ,like the amount of immigrants that are coming into our country and bleeding our goverment dry of free benefits, given fully furnished houses etcetc and what about our own pensioners who are given a pittance to live on and they lost husbands ,brothers all for this country so back to the point george the idiot galloway any kind of dog can turn nasty and i bet there have been more dog attacks on people from other breeds and mongrels on people than staffies its the same old story 1 incident about a staffie and they get branded what about all the attacks we dont read about is it because it wasnt a so called dangerouse dog it wasnt worth writing about so george get ur act together and tackle the real problems in the country and kels nice dog and thanks for pointing out george the idiots plans .e-mail supplied

alison i agree with you staffies are the most loveable dog you could ever find as i bought mine after the deaths of my mum ,mum in law and future wife within a year and then my dad died and if it wasnt for my dog which was the only 1 i had left apart from my boy who was only 4 at the time my dog helped me through some of the hardest times in my life and as u said he was like the son u never had ,my dog was like the brother ive never had but unfortuneatley some scumbag stole her and it was like a death in the family all over again but i got a new 1 but i gave him to my niece who moved into a new house but im hoping to get a bitch to breed him with as id like a pup to bring up with my new girlfriends daughter who is only 4

GEORGE GALLOWAY GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!has any1 ever heard that staffies were once called granny dogs ?what it was : i was in the post office 1 day collecting an old mans money for him and id left my staffie sitting outside and i heard an old lady saying "in you come pet it wont touch you"so i turned round and there was an old lady coming into the shop but the other lady was being kind and letting the old lady enter before she left and there was my staffie sittin outside the shop looking in at me as if to say im still here lol but the old lady joined the quue and wen she knew it was my dog she explained that they were called grannie dogs because like years ago when it was all big families ,all the big families had a staffie as it looked after the children when they were playing in the yard as would be said in they days, can any1 tell me if theyve ever heard of this as ive been curious ever since Danny.

ive not heard that before truscot132 but i could see why they would be called that. my irish staff sits on patio watching my kids play in garden and some times joins in. the good thing is though he's not over protective with my kids and is quite happy to fuss anybody really.

I own two staffys both are very friendly and get on very well with kids of all ages especially my 2 year old nephew. I think its awful with all the bad press about staffies it makes me very annoyed. I know where your coming from Sibcy, i was walking past an elderly man and his dog was growling and barking when i was walking past with my boyfriend and two staffys. He said to his dog as he was holding him back you know what staffys are like. My dogs didnt bark or nothing his dog was the one going wild not mine. Good job i was having a good day or i would of gone mad with the man.

hi i have had a staffie in my family for years, it gets me so mad when people dont see them for what they really are, but for the mean hard dogs that some people want them to see. my staffie(roxi) is so soft with my children and other children as well, i have never had aproblem with her and other animals, i let her run off on the park when other dogs are on there and if she goes up to them at all its only to play. the only time you will hear her bark is if she needs to alert you to something/1. GEORGE GET A LIFE--LEAVE STAFFIES ALONE--GO BACK IN BB AND DONT COME OUT THIS TIME.

Hi , i don't have a staffie , but do like them as a breed , can i just say to all you staffie people get them out and socialised , as we know most of them are brilliant with kids , but can be iffy with other dogs if not properly socialised when young , hopefully it would help to up their reputation if everyone tried hard to make them as dog friendly as possible ( luckily we meet a lot of dog friendly ones near us ) but still a few nasty types too , one of my dogs has been attacked by two seperate staffies , but not too badly ( no blood drawn ) he was on lead and got flown at both times by off lead dogs , not bad people but no control at all ( so dogs def should have been on lead as we were on the pavement not in open spaces either ) i would love a little black staffie bitch , but the lighter type not a big heavy one .

Oh i know that , i just meant that the more dog friendly staffies people meet the better their reputaion will become again ( i know someone with three yorkies that just go ballistic at all dogs and kids really GRRRR ) and walk them on extending leads with no control whatsover .
