Clive - email me your address and a couple are on the way to you, they are second hand, and showing some wear but if you are careful they will do the job. All I ask in return is that you send me a copy of the manual that you have so that I can add it to my website.

The design of these fuse holders in my opinion is awful, the plastic was too soft and very quickly gets damaged by use of coins or mains tester screwdrivers to undo them. Very quickly they are rendered useless. Its probably why they are no longer made. ( I have been trying for over 6 months to find replacements or who made them without success ). Whenever I come across any I keep them for re-use.

The trick is to use a wide bladed screwdriver which completely fills the slot head and therefore distributes the turning action across the width of the fuse holder head with out damaging it.

Another problem with them is that the fuses get stuck in them very easily and then break when you try to remove them, again normally rendering the fuse holder useless as it is nearly impossible to get any remaining part of the fuse out.

Thanks

I have a ZIG CF 2000 that has one of the glass fuse holders melted and corroded, funny thing is every thing works. Have not removed front panel yet as van is sited. Was thinking I could by-pass and put in a inline fuse, does front panel give me access to do this. Will know more when I get it out. Replacement is a CF9 I am told from Zig, same wiring but so far only found one at £123. Many thanks for any help. PS. Fuse holders are horizontal not push and turn.

Hi Gordon, this has probably occured due to the clips of the fuse holder becoming loose and then overheating due to poor connection. The CF 2000 is a combined control panel and chager unit so when you remove it you will have a sealed unit behind the panel. the top will almost definely be riveted on and you will need to drill these out before you can get access to the fuse holders and then re-fix when any work is finished.
With regard to replacing with a CF9, whilst the wiring at back is simple, the CF9 is taller but narrower than the CF2000 which will result in extra work in altering the facia / panel that it is mounted in. IE the facia will need to be cut to accomodate the extra height but you may be left with holes to cover over at either side.
Hope this helps

I have had some domestic problems this week so will scan the manual you require and dispatch it next week. I would appreciate the fuse holders. Incidentally, I have got round the problems of the 'slot' in the end of the fuse by filing a slot straight across and in line with the orignal slot of the holder. You get a better purchase with a screwdriver then. You still have to be careful though when removing them.

I received the fuse holders today and they fit superb. I have installed one with a 10A fuse and will keep the other as a spare. Thank you very much, but I feel I should pay for them somehow. If I'm ever in your area I'll stand you a beer! Hope the manual turned out OK.

Regards
Clive

The SP8 is quite an old panel so it may be difficult to obtain a replacement. However the switches themselves should be replaceable. If you are lucky they are push on connectors, unlucky and they are soldered. If you are confident with a soldering iron if it comes to it, have a close look at the existing switches which should be marked with either 10A or 15A, email me with the type on [Log in to view email] and I will let you know availability and price. Even better if you can let me have some form of photo as Zig have used different types over the years.
Thanks
