Curses! - it was tested and working before I posted, they have returned. I will have to get my ISP to look at it. Pls go to my website and at the bottom of the home page there is an email link which uses a slightly different address which is working. Pls try and forward on this instead. Thanks

hi,denise, and a happy new year to you, you forgot to mention the make and year of your van, because it might not be fitted with a charger, the reason for the tripping is you might have a short somewhere in the van, also you might be using to many utensils,i hope this helps, cheers, ron..........

denise the trouble is you can't use all of them all the time, you must turn one of them off say if you are boiling the kettle and you've got the fire on, you must turn it off, then it won't blow the camp trip switch, you see you are overloading the camp supply, i know my van does the same, if you reduce the amount used and it still does the same, you may have some bad wireing and you must get it overhauled, or checked by someone who knows, cheers ,RON......ps.is'nt there someone to do it for you its very easy................

Hi, I've got a zig cf2000 that has started to play up. On site we can use a hook up during the day which is fine but at night the generator is off. The power indicator lights on the unit stay on when switched over to 12V but as soon as any appliance eg a light is turned on (on the 12V system) the indicator lights fade and die and I'm (or rather my mum!) is left in the dark. It used to work so I'm not doing anything different, it's just a new problem. I've e-mailed zig and they recommend a cf9 as repairs/diagnostics by them would cost almost the same, but that means messing around with the facia etc - it's not easy............Any help gratefully recieved, Nick.

Nick - assuming that you have a leisure battery attached, all the sypmtons sound like the battery has gone - probably a dead cell situation. Immediately after it has been on charge for a time, turn everything off and with a multi meter check the voltage reading - you should get approx 12.7V. Leave evrything off and after 2-3 hours check again,if the voltage is dropping then the battery is not holding its charge, and if you get 11.8V or less you definitely have a dead cell. Then a new battery should solve your problem. On a different matter, you mention generator - a lot of posters on this forum will testify to the fact that generators and caravans are not always a good marriage. Unless it is one of the very modern ( and expensive ) with regulated / smoothed output models, generators have a habit of peaking ie sending a much higher than intended supply down the line and it is normally the Zig unit circuitry that starts to make expensive smelling noises as a consequence - just be careful. Thanks

Hi Barry, thanks for that I'll go and check the battery asap. By the way the generator is a sneaky hook-up to a 'proper job' (great big generator on a lorry)feeding the NTET marquee at the Great Dorset Steam Fair where we help out every year. That's also where I bought the battery two or maybe three years ago as well so I'm almost hoping it isn't that! (but it would be cheaper to replace) anyway I'll let you know, Nick.

hi there folks, we have recently purchased a hobby caravan which only has a electric supply when hooked up to the mains. I would like to go further afield but whilst at a haven site over easter ther was a power cut we had no power. If it was was just two of us this would of been fine, but we have three small children ages 6 3 1. to cut a long story short we have been looking at the zig units to see if these would work with a zig unit. if anyone could help me this would be very helpful thank you john
